user1481129388 · 26/01/2024 13:31

Hi there, Does anyone know if the waitlist for City Junior (7+) moves at all? Or is it that everyone who has not been offered a place is put on a reserve list?
Keen to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

We have still not heard from City 😕

Caps1974 · 26/01/2024 13:57

From another thread, City & UCS results are out.

elbelle19 · 26/01/2024 13:58

Just got ours - also waitlisted x

Caps1974 · 26/01/2024 14:34

I'm assuming a lot of movement next week, as UCS, HABS and Highgate will also come out today. Good luck.

mamma77 · 27/01/2024 08:35

We ae on a waitlist for UCS, hoping the waiting list moves next week. Does anyone know when is the deadline for accepting the offers?

BumpyS · 27/01/2024 11:46

For other similar schools is Feb 2 so I would expect similar

mamma77 · 27/01/2024 12:43

@BumpyS Thank you. Keeping everything crossed.

BumpyS · 27/01/2024 15:09

Sorry - meant Feb 7th. Good luck!

In general, any idea where do families with DC in City Junior live? We will need to move if we get City Junior (currently waitlisted) but the local area does not seem very family friendly.

Children at CJS come from all over London although significant clusters in north London. Most come on public transport although there are a couple of school buses. Very few live on the doorstep.

ItsRainingTacos79 · 27/01/2024 23:54

A large number are North London based (Highbury Islington, Hampstead, St Johns Wood,Finchley, Mill Hill). There are two school bus services operating two North London routes (at a cost).

elbelle19 · 28/01/2024 09:13

Lots of the parents work near the junior school and commute in with their kids x

BumpyS · 28/01/2024 09:58

There are a few families around the Barbican complex but as mentioned most commute from all over London.

Thank you everyone.

Does anyone happen to know how soon does the list start to move? Is it only after the acceptance deadlines for the offers that we get contacted by the school admissions? Or could it be before that also?

At a School Tour I attended last year, CJS said they will send 110 offers for 75 seats, but they will accept even if all 110 take these offers.

mammaoftwogirls · 03/02/2024 20:34

How many children applied?

blackwheels · 03/02/2024 22:43

Over 300 children sat the assessment.

mammaoftwogirls · 03/02/2024 22:44

Not bad stats - a third of those who sit the assessment get an offer

KRE9 · 05/02/2024 12:28

Has anyone heard from the waitlist from city junior school yet?

mamma77 · 05/02/2024 12:30

Has anyone from the waiting list heard from UCS yet?

That's an amazing ratio, making it one of the easiest to get an offer from, based on those stats.

SlntDad · 05/02/2024 16:11

@Caps1974 Totally agree, and as long as I've watched before/after my session, there were more girls than boys. That's one of the reason my DS has got an offer. We were so lucky...

Hi,

is there anyone who has been told that their child is in the reserved list for City junior 7+, how many of them clear it or say get a space

@user1481129388 we are in the same position this year (2025) and I wondered if you could share what happened last year to you? Thanks!
