'Good Afternoon,,

Please see attached the work S completed, after A LOT of effort from me to get him started.

It is becoming physically and mentally draining for me to get him to work.

I am also attaching the work completed by another child. The presentation and level of effort between the two is clearly visible.

I appreciate your continued support in this matter.'

My son is a young Y2, is high average to above in reading and maths but has always struggled with writing.

AIBU to think the teacher is being out of order here. I am upset by her comments

@RAOK

Ask to see the Headteacher on Monday morning. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
This.

Ah that’s good OP. No I wouldn’t want them sacked either, I’m a teacher and I know it’s draining at times, I’m just so shocked that she said your child had drained her and made her mentally exhausted. I’m in an independent school so lines like that would have landed her straight in the shit. It was an awful thing to say regardless.
Our school currently has a big imitative on the go similar to what you’ve said, preprinted objectives for certain children, multiple recording and evidence methods on offer. Obviously children can’t get out of working on their writing completely but other recording ways are being implemented too.
I’m glad you’ve received a positive outcome.
