Ours are 5 minutes and it doesn't seem long enough.

How long is normal?

10 minutes at ours.

Yubaba · 24/10/2019 15:11

10 and it’s pretty strongly enforced.

ATowelAndAPotato · 24/10/2019 15:14

Ten minutes at ours, spread over two evenings as 30 per class!

5 mins seems tight unless the message is - all ok, nothing worth mentioning!! In which case, what’s the point of having a meeting?

ApacheTomcat · 24/10/2019 15:15

I think it's 5 minutes at ours.

30 children in the class and a 3hr-long parents evening means that there probably isn't time for much more than that.

Bluntness100 · 24/10/2019 15:15

Ours was Five mins per teacher.

TeenPlusTwenties · 24/10/2019 15:15

10 mins at primary

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 24/10/2019 15:16

ours are five minutes long.
it's clearly not enough, as we always ask for one of the later slots because of work, and invariably have a 20-60 minute delay.

TokyoSushi · 24/10/2019 15:23

10 over 2 evenings

Sotiredbutcannotsleep · 24/10/2019 15:28

10 minutes (held on two evenings )

MerryMarigold · 24/10/2019 15:30

10 mins. School shuts half day to get through everyone.

SoyDora · 24/10/2019 15:30

10 mins and always feels just about right.

Clangus00 · 24/10/2019 15:42

7 minutes.
They have a P7 standing outside the door with a stopwatch as well.

msmith501 · 24/10/2019 15:42

Fifteen mins at primary plus five mins before hand to get absorbed in their work books.... before sitting on really really small chairs Smile

hopeishere · 24/10/2019 15:44

10 mins some in the afternoon and then an exceptional closure day.

subwaysaladfan · 24/10/2019 15:46

15 minutes primary

minipie · 24/10/2019 15:49

10 minutes.

Unfortunately the teacher always seems to use 8 of those minutes talking through the kind of work the class has been doing. Next time I’m going to start with “hi, so what is my DC doing well at and struggling with” as that’s what I really want to know...

Ilovewillow · 24/10/2019 15:49

10 minutes and you're Allowed to go on time and interrupt those taking over their 10 mins (I don't think anyone does though). We have an infants school and separated junior school and each yr is a three form entry so it's over two nights as well.

Flicketyflack · 24/10/2019 15:53

10 mins @ primary
5 mins @ Secondary

msmith501 · 24/10/2019 15:54

I recall the teacher telling me how well (day) Peter was doing.... when my son was called (day) David...cue some confused looks...

FrenchJunebug · 24/10/2019 16:21

10 minutes here. If you have a pressing problem you can always talk to the teacher during the week. P/T meeting are just a brief summary.

Gizlotsmum · 24/10/2019 16:33

10 mins but can book double appointments if necessary

mumum1 · 24/10/2019 18:05
