Summer uniform in autumn

DD starts school in Sept. Should I get her a summer dress now, in case it's still hot then, or will they still be available in the shops come Sept?

And summer dresses not even in every size.

m and s were all but sold otu of shorts at the weekend - loads of long trousers thoguh , including the ones I've wanted for ds since last September but never materialised ! Couldn't bring myself to buy any now for September though, he might grow after all, nor long sleeve blouses for dd !

There were 2 pairs of school shorts in Asda, one a size 3 and one a size 8.

Anyway DS1 wore his size 10 (! he's 7) shorts from Sainbo's and liked them. DD v pleased with dress. But will have to find DS1 more shorts asap.

Who else does them??? Adams worth a look?

havent read thread but was just going to add, i found all the materials for these dresses oriile and rough, but m+s had some that werent too bad.

But i bought mine in Adams, bouy one geto ne half price. I got 2 different styles (blue) looked same sixe but one was a yr older than the other.

So two dresses for £11.50. They are nice quality too, not too scratchy.

I bought DDs during the summer holiday last year - both sizes age 5 & 6 from Debenhams online. She wore it from Sept until Oct half-term. The age 5 no longer fits but the 6 does - she started wearing it again yesterday.

Girls quite like the choice - and if all the other girls in her class are wearing them, it might help her to settle in better.
