DD is so indecisive. Please help inspire us.

My dd just used her book bag, some that didn't had handbags. But they were also the ones that got in trouble in yr 5 for putting on hairspray in the toilets.

MrsASoprano · 22/08/2017 21:41

My DDs both have Joules rucksacks which are pretty indestructible.

GreatBigPolarBear · 22/08/2017 21:44

Smiggle here. I groaned to start with when she said she'd like one but it's actually a good bag. I was going to get one for 6 yo DS too until dd told me they were very uncool for boys Grin

RueDeWakening · 22/08/2017 21:50

DD is about to start year 6 and has had one like this since year 4.

RainbowSparkles · 22/08/2017 21:53

DD2 (yr4) likes the Tinc backpacks, they are like smiggle but a bit cheaper.
DD1 (yr6) is desperate for a harry potter backpack (which I have yet to find one that doesn't require a mortgage) or smiggle will, in her words, have to do!

stabbybitch · 22/08/2017 21:59

My DD going into year 5 has chosen this fluffy cat bag. She was also indecisive and wanted a smiggle one at first then reversible sequin bag from Claire's but it was out of stock so chose this. Have a look on Claire's website they have a offer of £10 off wit the code BACKPACK.

Smiggle here too for my DD age 7. As well as Smiggle pencil case, pens, water bottle...... ! Definitely her favourite shop.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 22/08/2017 23:14

DD needed one from last September, after extensive (she usually hates shopping) a Smiggle one was selected, it's lasted the first year well and washed brilliantly too.

MissWimpyDimple · 22/08/2017 23:28

Mine has a MiPac one.

It's the galaxy print.

They all seem to have a selection of that kind of thing.

ludothedog · 22/08/2017 23:52

another smiggle one here too. Last year DD had a cheap character bag (secret life of pets) that didn't last the full year. Hopefully we'll get a couple of years out of the smiggle ones.

AlphaBites · 22/08/2017 23:56

Joules one here too which has lasted the year pretty well, bit of scuff marks but nothing major. I'm debating getting another bag but feel like it would be a waste of money when her other one will do 😳

Nyancat · 23/08/2017 00:03

RueDeWakening is that one waterproof? I saw something similar in France on holiday but it was oilcloth and kicking myself I didn't get it but can't find the same thing online.

NancyDonahue · 23/08/2017 10:22

These are great. Dd has two. They've been through the wash a few times and come out looking brand new. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071JDSQGV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_TJuNzbNNDWKQR?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Ecover · 23/08/2017 11:44

Thank you these are all great but dd still undecided Confused

The smuggles rucksacks seem really large / tall, in your experience do they really need such large bags?

DD1 has a Minions rucksack - you can't get much in it, but it's so cool I kind of want one for myself!!

Smiggle do a smaller sized rucksack for the littler kids. My DD6 has one and loves it. It's already lasted a year and there is nothing wrong with it!

SleepingBooty · 23/08/2017 12:57

My DD loves Star Wars so has a stormtrooper backpack. It's white so it gets filthy but at least it's distinctive so she's easy to spot in the playground.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 23/08/2017 13:05

The about to be y1 beast has a school book bag.

The about to be y6 beast has a small walking rucksack that my mum gave me. It used to have one of those water bladders and a long pipe straw in it. We gutted it, and it's the perfect size for his junk. He uses it for everything, not just school. It's so far proven indestructible. If he ends up in mainstream school we'll just size up I think.

trixymalixy · 23/08/2017 13:36

smiggle or hype seem popular with DD's classmates as do the hot tuna ones from sports direct linked to below.

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 23/08/2017 16:05

I LOVE those satchels RueDeWakening. Is there anywhere you can get those in the uk?

MaryMcCarthy · 23/08/2017 16:14

Are you being unreasonable to ask for rucksack recommendations on the AIBU forum? I'd say so.

TheNaze73 · 23/08/2017 16:15

Adidas originals or Superdry
