Purple school uniform? Please help me :-)

DD starts senior school in September and I need to source black rugby socks with a purple band on the foldover. She is tiny and the socks they sell are far too big. I'm struggling to find a prep who may have similar uniform. Can anyone suggest a school uniform that might be suitable so I can order the socks only? Thanks

Crofton junior school (state junior academy 'proud to be purple') have a purple uniform. No purple socks or purple stripes in socks though. Thanks all, I'm looking through them all. 404 they sound perfect from the description (no picture) but don't go small enough...perhaps its a supply thing with that design. I'll keep looking.

Putney High School has purple uniform, or Hampshire Collegiate. Not sure what their sports socks are like though!

Don't know why I didn't think of Kimbolton! exH went there many moons ago and I know several staff and pupils....their socks are black with just the right purple top...except they say KIMBOLTON in white letters down the side grrr!

Ebay. They sell black sports socks with different coloured bands at the top. About 1.80 a pair, from China (so order a few pairs now and you should get something by the end of the holidays)

Gordonstoun have these exact rugby socks. Not sure how small they go though. We used to get ours from Aitken and Niven or JL, not sure if they still do them or not though. Hope this helps!

i second speaking to Stevensons. They are our school supplier and very accommodating. Tell them what you need and see if they can source them

You need to insist the supplier sources them.

My Ds is about to go into year 8. His school supplier is Perry. Lastvyear when he began year 7 he was in age 7-8 clothes with size 13 feet.

i was very firm but made it clear I wasn't prepared for him to be laughed at by wearing oversized uniform.

However those rugby socks are small and hard to put on. I always size up in those.

Could you not re-hem the toe on the socks, then trim the excess fabric?

As the toes are generally hidden in shoes they shouldn't cause an issue.

SIMPLE - buy standard ones, wash and put in dryer. They will come out a size smaller and thinner. Works every time.
On the flip side, if your DC footy or rugby socks fit, never put them in the dryer.
