So stressed. Everyone's found out about their primary school place except us!
No email has been received. Does anyone know what will happen if they have somehow forgotten to deal with our application? It was all submitted correctly and well in good time.

In our area it's not till Monday. Are you sure of the date - check your local council website to be sure.

andsoimback · 15/04/2016 20:46

Did you get confirmation of receipt?

RNBrie · 15/04/2016 20:49

Are you in London OP? It's 5pm Monday for London boroughs (and others, I'm sure).

If you did an online eadmissions application then log in and check the status!

Snowflakes1122 · 15/04/2016 20:50

Yes-got confirmation email of my application way back in nov. Just rechecked it!
All the mums I know have got this email except me. Stressed.

Offers will be sent out on Monday here too. Are you sure you've got the date right?

Snowflakes1122 · 15/04/2016 20:51

In Wales. It was meant to be Monday when we found out, but everyone's had an email confirming school place that I know. Apart from us!

TimeOfGlass · 15/04/2016 20:52

So other local parents have had e-mails?

Stupid question, but have you checked your junk mail folders just in case?

Snowflakes1122 · 15/04/2016 20:53

Not sure why they all got the email tonight apart from us. No one I know has t been told other than us. This makes me think they forgot our application. What a terrible thought!

Gizlotsmum · 15/04/2016 20:53

Can you login to the system? So where you applied? Some areas will have the offer there.

RNBrie · 15/04/2016 20:53

Have you checked your junk mail?

Just log in and check the site. There should be a link to view and respond to offer.

Snowflakes1122 · 15/04/2016 20:53

Yes-checked junk mail a million times on refresh! Nothing.

Gizlotsmum · 15/04/2016 20:53

Have you checked junk mail? Deleted to create some inbox space?

Snowflakes1122 · 15/04/2016 20:54

Nothing on the log in on council site either. Just submitted

I know I'm tasting prison food here, but what happens if they leave a child out and forget them? We wanted our catchment school, but it's really sought after!

Yes, try that ^^

RNBrie · 15/04/2016 20:57

If they've made an error and somehow forgotten you then you appeal and you'll be fine as it would be their error.

The emails do come out in batches so it's possible they just haven't got to you yet.

Snowflakes1122 · 15/04/2016 20:57

No offer on the log in of council site. Just says 'submitted' with a tick next to it to indiciate I sent my application in

OP posts:
TimeOfGlass · 15/04/2016 20:59

Not an expert, but my understanding is that if you've submitted the application correctly with all details correct, and a council error means your child misses out on a place that they would have otherwise been eligible for, then you've got a good chance of winning an appeal.

Gizlotsmum · 15/04/2016 21:00

Have you deleted any cookies that could be taking you to a cached page ( clutching at straws for you)

Snowflakes1122 · 15/04/2016 21:09

Still no email. Just going to hope I get a letter tomorrow. Stressed!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/04/2016 21:12

I've just checked mine and it says my result will be available 16/04/16 so perhaps yours is the same and won't show til tomorrow?

NynaevesSister · 16/04/2016 07:13

That's got to be tough when other parents have had theirs. But as it was clearly submitted then if they have made a mistake that cost you a place you would otherwise have got then it is possible it won't even go to appeal. So really don't ruin your weekend worrying about it.

Pompatrol · 16/04/2016 11:09

I'm in the same boat. So stressful. The helpline is not open either. We're right on the edge of the catchment area too.

gallicgirl · 16/04/2016 11:13

It's clearly submitted so don't worry.
It is unusual to have the offer early but I know friends in Lancashire who have heard too. Sounds like some council's have jumped the gun!

Maybe only schools where it's easy to place pupils have been released.

admission · 16/04/2016 21:00

The LA have to offer a place, so if you have not heard by Monday I would phone them up and ask why you have not received an email regarding your child's place. Wales tends not to have as much problem with too many applications as in many areas of England, so if you have very clear confirmation that you submitted on time and it was accepted, it could well be that there has been a mistake made.
If that is the case then you ask them to confirm if the application had been properly processed whether your child would have been offered a place at the school. If they say yes then ask them for the place and expect to get it. If they say you would still not have got a place then you need to know why. In that instance even though a mistake has been made, it still means that no place would need to be offered at that school, only one at another school.
