I appreciate all your hard work and effort. I appreciate the factthat children are unpredictable and may not gettheir lines right.

I appreciate that it is so difficult to cast the play without running into accusations of favouritism and my dd/ds wanted to be an angel/mary/joseph and it always goes to x who is teacher's pet.

And I appreicate that in order to try and make the whole process interesting and fun for the children you have bought in a lovely little play with cute songs that may not meet the stereotype of a "traditional" nativity but is probably much more inspiring. I appreciate you havn't done this becasue nativities are banned/no longer pc etc

What I don't understand is why you actually bother when there are so many parents who do nothing but moan about the whole thing

I'm not moaning this year - my dd is Mary

Glitterygookwithchocsonthetree · 05/12/2006 17:35

I've not heard any moaning.

keiralou · 05/12/2006 20:41

Neither have I and I've been teaching for 11 years in Inner London with loads of different faiths etc. It's the busiest event of our whole school year and all the parents seem to love it!

MoreEggnogAnyone · 05/12/2006 20:42

Cause it's not really for the parents...it's for the kids!

Liesel,

Please know the answer.

Ha ha julienet, any school play just wouldn't be the same without a bit of backbiting from the parents!!!! Slightly off on a tangent but i used to attend a local dance schools adult classes and they did this big show. There was a big hoo ha about some of the mums feeling their dd's didn't get the coverage or the costumes they wanted. Principle got so pissed off with it all she expelled them all!!! Can't really do that at proper schools tho - shame you can't expel the problem parents though!!!

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 05/12/2006 20:50

it is, and dont f*** rub it in just cause your DD's got the lead part.

MoreEggnogAnyone · 05/12/2006 20:57

DD didn't get the lead, she's one of the angels!

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 05/12/2006 20:59

Our Rainbow one was a shepard down becausea Mam thought it wasn't worth going to as her dd didn't have to speak

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 05/12/2006 21:00

Oh shit

MoreEggnogAnyone · 05/12/2006 21:01

3 posts..............someone is pissed off. Go and tell the teacher (you best friend) that it's not good enough

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 05/12/2006 21:02

Methinks thats why shes only in the choir.

MoreEggnogAnyone · 05/12/2006 21:04

Ww should think up a nick name for the teacher. What about Robert Winston since she was so concerned about you having baby no.2?

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 05/12/2006 21:07

Yeah that'll do ((((Liesel racks brain for other famous teachers - no cant do it))))

MoreEggnogAnyone · 05/12/2006 21:09

Do you want to play?

julienetmum · 05/12/2006 21:22

Not seen it so much on mumsnet but on other forums at the moment there is nothing but my dd's school isn't doing a traditional nativity this year, or my dd never gets a good part and so on.

Getting fed up of reading the same thing over and over.
