Colet Court 7+ Reserve list 2014

Hello, anyone else on the reserve list for Colet court 7+?

We are 8+.

My DS is on the Latymer waiting list and I am not sure how to interpret this. Do schools offer just the right number of places that are available or do they offer just a bit more as they know from past experience that some children sit different exams ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

I don't know if they over offer but the cut off date for acceptance is the 6th of February. After that the school can offer to those on the waiting list. Good luck, I hope you get the news you want. From my experience of 7+ it was the same children swilling around at the interviews and you can never tell what their first preference is. We are turning our place down so hopefully you will be closer to that place at Latymer.

Mama1Mia, we are on CC 7+ reserve list. Is there anyone who is likely to decline your CC offer?

Yes, I know one personally and know of one other. Apparently both are going to tell CC today.

We have declined our place at CC and WUS today, accepting KCS. Hopefully there will be two happy families. Good Luck!

rose - I'm sure school slightly over offered due to cross applicants and need to analyze all the definite places b/f moving to reserve list. So it's unlikely they will contact anybody till Thursday - cut off day for 7+ and 8+. It is all very stressful and emotional, especially to stumble at the last hurdle. We did not tell our little soldier anything yet, as he was working very hard and set his heart on CC - we've applied only to one school as he really liked it. Good luck and stay strong!

We got into one of the other schools in SW London at 7+ from the waiting list a couple of years ago. The call came immediately after the confirmation deadline (for acceptances of offers) had passed.

The schools do over offer so they need to know exactly where they stand before they can go to the reserve list.

BTW having known several boys who have got in from the reserve lists they all do very well once settled at school. The 'reserve' list is a sign that the school believes the boys would fit in very well if they had the space for them.

I've heard there are about 20 on the reserve list and that they will start making calls on Friday. The deadline for replies to offers on the initial list is at noon that day.

Correction - I meant noon on Thursday.

ThisIs - is it for 7+? I assume numbers are similar for 8+. Tks for update.
