I started the below thread last year and have had so many people find it useful I thought it might be worth doing it again.

I have had a number of messages asking if I have any spaces in my classes. I'm really sorry but I have been at full capacity for some time now.

However, I do appreciate that this is a very stressful time of year for parents who have children sitting these private school assessments in January 2013. So, I'm hoping that by setting up this support group thread I can help by answering some questions you have about these assessments.

Hopefully this thread will also contain some useful insight from the experiences of parents who have already been through the process.

Hello, my 4 year old is sitting SHHS and St Christopher's this week. We were away last week, do you think there is a disadvantage being last on the last day? (Worried face). Apparently SHHS were 'interviewing' parents outside the assessments last week - is that true? Could you shed any light on the St Christopher's, NW3 process/assessment? We knew to expect teddy bear picnic for SHHS but have nothing for St Christopher's. thank you so much. As you have probably guessed, we have not tutored her. Thanks again.

Dear mumteacher i really appreciate your views and time put on this forum. Its a big support to mothers like us who are going through this for the first time. Can u please throw some light on Channing first round results and how to prepare our child for habs, Nlcs, St Helens and Channing 2nd round, should she be called.

Mumteacher is it only 4+ girls that are being called by phone or 5+ too?
You said 5+ girls schools are asked for a reference do you know if they do this before first or second round?

Mumteacher thank you for this thread, I only came across it this evening and I'm sure it would've been very helpful if I'd found it earlier! My daughter (may birthday) is sitting St Christopher's NW3 this week. As has been said above I also know nothing about what to expect for this... Any advice? Thank you very much

Nothing from NLCS here either. I assume that means all letters will be posted today to arrive tomorrow.

Nothing today from NLCS but had a call from Habs on Friday if that's any help...

No post today, the NLCS letter said we would hear by the 14th - would this be a call or letter - does anyone know?

Had a call today from St Helen's for a second interview for 4+ which is positive...fingers crossed!

nothing from nlcs. our first assessment with habs was on last friday and nothing from habs yet. st helen's nothing as well although our assessment was on last tuesday...

MiaJasmine - you will hear from NLCS by post. Habs are calling people apparently although we haven't heard from them either.

I think and outright rejection email now is probably better than being left hanging for the rest of the month and then being rejected. Still waiting to hear from Habs. Very pleased to have a lovely little back up school.
