What times do your YR children go to bed, actually fall asleep and wake up in the morning?

Mine are 9 and 11 now, but when they were in YrR it was 7.00 - 7.15 - 6.00 (on a working day, required waking by me) or 7.15 (on weekends/holidays).

These days it's 8.20 - 8.30 - still 6 on a working day but closer to 8 weekends and holidays. I guess my DCs need loads of sleep.

girliefriend · 30/04/2012 21:11

dd is 6yo

goes to bed at 7.15, asleep by 7.45 wakes up about 7.30am

meboo · 30/04/2012 21:12

When DS was in YR bedtime was 6pm, asleep by 6.10pm and awake at 6.30/7am.

TheLoveOfFood · 30/04/2012 21:13

About ten hours of kip, but doesn't really shift too much unless they have a rum of weeks of late nights during the school holidays. 7am is a lie-in in our house..

730 bedtime = 530 wake up!

treadonthecracks · 30/04/2012 21:14

DS tonight

6.45
6.46
usually wakes about 7

He's always needed a lot of sleep. 11.5 - 12 hrs a night

suzikettles · 30/04/2012 21:17

Ds has an 8pm bedtime, he's asleep usually by 9 (sometimes earlier, sometimes later), wakes 7.30-8am.

It takes him a long time to get to sleep (always has, and I was the same as a child), but luckily we don't have a big rush in the morning so it's fine for him to sleep until 8.

Chubfuddler · 30/04/2012 21:17

Ds only needs 10 - 11 hours per night but I have to weigh up the agony of early mornings v having him up after I think he should be in bed.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 30/04/2012 21:18

dd1 turns in somewhere around 7-7.30
she's almost always asleep by 7.45
she wakes somewhere between 7.15-7.45

she gets the opportunity to stay up and watch rubbish TV with me on a Saturday night, but is often too tired to last beyond 7.30 and asks to go up.

muffinflop · 30/04/2012 21:25

Bed between 6.45 and 7
Has a story from me and then can read until 7.30
Asleep some time between 7.30 and 8.00
Wakes around 7 Monday and Tuesday
Has to be woken up at 7.15 the rest of the week!

Tgger · 30/04/2012 22:02

Bed at 6.45/7, stories, allowed to read until 7.30 or 8, sometimes asleep 7.05, sometimes 8.30/9pm!- awake at 7am- wake him up if not awake!

At the beginning of Year R it was 6.30 bedtime and he'd be asleep moments later, awake at 7am. He seems to need a bit less sleep this end of the year, and he's 5.5, so an older one.

OctopusSting · 30/04/2012 22:04

simpson · 30/04/2012 22:18

DS is now in yr2 and goes to bed about 8 ish but when he was in yr R he was soooo tired he used to be in bed by 6/6.15 most nights and would be asleep before his head hit the pillow!!!

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 30/04/2012 22:20

Thank goodness for StarshitTerroris - I was feeling really bad about our 8.30/9.00 bedtime. Awake 7am. Blush

StarshitTerrorise · 30/04/2012 22:22

Lol!

redpanda13 · 30/04/2012 22:23

DD is 6
Bed is 19:30.
Allowed to stay up late at weekend but I make up blankets on couch so usually asleep by 21:00
She wakes at 07:30 - 08:00

The · 30/04/2012 22:25

Bed at 7.
In theory Grin
She dawdles and resists it for as long as possible, so final lights probably at 8.

Up between 7-7.45am.

UniS · 30/04/2012 22:27

7pm
7.05pm
had to be woken every morning at 7.30am

now in year one the 7pm is sometimes more like 7.30. Still have to wake him in the mornings tho.

anthonytrollopesrevenge · 30/04/2012 22:28

How about for my DS in yr r on a bad day!

3:30pm (in younger sister's pushchair the second we got out of the playground, had to be wakened for tea, then fell asleep in chair while eating pudding)
4:30pm actual time put into bed (already asleep)
6:45am

Yr r was a nightmare for family life. On a good day he'd stay awake until about 5pm.

It has been much easier with DD who in yr r averaged

6:30
6:30
6:45 (her older brother wakes her up!)
