Remember - wood (and peat) go like snow off a dyke if you're using them as your fuel. Even wood has to be cut in advance, really, and then stored to dry out.

That's the beauty of a rocket stove, it uses absolutely minimal fuel. In my multifuel stove ( for heating in the house) you chew through fuel, but these stoves use next to nothing and you can cook over what would be kindling for most fires. You can usually find a few dry twigs under a hedge or scrounge cardboard from somewhere.
