Afternoon all, I’m 3 week post medical abortion and would have been 10 weeks by now. I have taken the pregnancy test that was in the kit and attached is a photo of the results. I’m confused. All symptoms have gone but now this has thrown me! Many thanks in advance.

It looks VERY faint . It can take a while for HCG to fully leave the body . If you’re concerned then contact your provider . If you aren’t feeling pregnant then I think that’s the main sign that it’s worked . Xx

I would contact the service. Mine looked like this and I was still pregnant. They are lower sensitivity tests than normal pregnancy tests. You might be fine, or it might be a small amount of retained products. I would definitely contact them.

Thank you both. Have called the lovely team at BPAS and they are sending another test to do in one weeks time. X

That’s great ! Keep that one too so you can compare the lines . As long as they are getting fainter that’s what you need to see Flowers

One week on and another positive Sad I am now awaiting a call back for a scan. I’m terrified to say the least. (4 weeks post medical abortion). Will this be an internal scan?

I don’t know, I’m sorry. If you would be 11 weeks pregnant I imagine that they will be able to scan you externally.

I hope you get a call soon Flowers

NutellaEllaElla · 17/09/2021 19:07

Oh that's worrying for you op, you've done the right thing in getting a scan. Fingers crossed for you and look after yourself.

Sian2388 · 17/09/2021 22:27

Thank you both. It’s such a nightmare. I teach too so having time off for medical appointments is pretty much a no go as we are expected to go out of working hours! Never mind, will wait patiently for the call! X

Aw sorry to hear you are going through this. How stressful.
How you get a scan ASAP.x

*Hope

I would be surprised if you are still pregnant given the clarity of the line. At 9/10/11 weeks pregnant the line should still be really quite strong.

As someone has said upthread it's more likely to be retained products of conception which definitely need taking care of due to the infection risk. Good luck!

Sian2388 · 18/09/2021 11:44

Thank you all, I have just had a call and they can fit me in for a scan at 3.30 today. It’s not my local clinic and I have terrible anxiety. I’m petrified. A Normal pregnancy test came up as a strong positive but I know we should only go by the low sensitive test. Worried about the next steps. I teach and have two children to look after. I was hoping it had all passed over the summer holiday Sad will keep you updated. X

It's probably done retained tissue which they'll quickly be able to sort out for you op, good luck xx

Gailhugger · 18/09/2021 12:15

Flowers hope you get some answers

BurbageBrook · 18/09/2021 14:42

OP, you are only expected to go to appointments outside working hours if they have those available. If you can only have an appointment within working hours, then that should be fine and just apply for cover. (Was a teacher and subject leader for 7 years.)
Hope you get this sorted.

ShaneTheThird · 18/09/2021 14:44

Flowers hope you get sorted quickly op.

Rose925 · 18/09/2021 14:45

@Sian2388 I hope it’s just your body taking a while for HCG to leave the body , or at worse just tissue left in body . The fact the low sensitivity was faint you probably aren’t ‘pregnant’ . Thinking of you & keep us updated xx
