Waiting 2.5 weeks for initial consultation

Hi,

I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant on Wednesday. I'm not in the position to keep the baby and want to have a termination.

I phoned to speak with the clinic last Thursday and the earliest date I can get is Wednesday 6th of January for a phone consultation. I'm only about 4 weeks now, so a bit disappointed that it will take that long to speak to someone. I understand they are busy and it's a bad time of year with the xmas/new year hols so can't helped. I just thought I could get the tablets and do it at home when I first phoned. Will it make the termination harder the further I am in my pregnancy?

Thanks

@YnysMon20 oh and crop top bras rather than underwired (not that I'd fit into any)

Hello everyone ! I hope you are
Doing ok today and pain is manageable if you have taken tablets already.

I have my consultation tomorrow and I'm hoping they send me the tabs soon ! I've been struggling with constant nausea and dizziness literally vomited the other day from it!
I wonder as soon as it passes how long symptoms take to disappear?!

Been going through some stress lately one of my parents(who doesn't know) big massive family fallout which isn't helping! And Had a little cry other night then my 5 year
Old said " why is your belly so big (bloated) mummy have you got a baby boy in there?" Heart just broke 💔 but I moved on I made my decision and am 100% with it xx

Hope everyone has a better day.. also whose in lockdown ?? Xxx

The dizziness and nausea are awful aren't they? I am finding it hard to function with it.

I'm about to take the codeine and then the second lot of tablets. So worried about the pain and blood loss and other side effects and I have my three children at home - hoping by tomorrow evening there'll be a clear end to this.

Please send positive thoughts.

YnysMon20 · 03/01/2021 16:16

@jammyrodger thinking of you. Hope it goes smoothly, please check in with us. I know it will be hard with the kids at home but I had wondered whether it may be a distraction too.

@cherry101 hope all goes well tomorrow. Mine is Wednesday. I am so sick and tired, I’ve had to get super strong anti sickness tablets as I was unable to keep anything down. Back at work tomorrow, hoping the distraction will help.

Xx

Thanks @YnysMon20. I've not yet inserted the tablets but have started bleeding and with cramps. Lost a sizeable clot - regretting not doing the tablets sooner. Back pain is up and feeling uncomfortable but ok. Will keep you all updated throughout the night.

Oh that's really great news - things are moving on now, which must be a relief!

The pain is intense but I promise, it's nothing you can't handle. I read through mine - hot water bottle, take the painkillers that you can, and full fat coke for sickness.

Pain is now more like with a period - backache and just a general wishy washy feeling. Think the sickness is already easing up but could be wishful thinking. Breasts have definitely started returning to normal.

From an emotional point of view, I feel absolutely fine - no regrets, just wish I'd not been in this situation.

Good luck tomorrow - by the end of the week, hopefully you'll be at the point I'm at today xx

YnysMon20 · 04/01/2021 22:04

@cherry101 I’m in Wales too! North Wales. I really hope I don’t need to go in for a scan. Wednesday can’t come quick enough, I am so fed up it’s unreal. Glad everything is progressing for you and you can start it tomorrow xx hopefully I won’t be too far behind!

jessstan1 · 04/01/2021 22:28

You don't always pass a large clot, chocsandcrisps, especially as early as you are. It shouldn't be too painful either.

Good luck.

I took both sets of second tablets vaginally as it's supposed to reduce the sickness. I didn't get any sickness or diarrhoea, but the codeine might have helped there, so if you have some, take it xx

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and decided after a week of finding out, I can't go through with it, not being in relationship I wanted long term, in fact I ended the relationship this evening 😞 I called one clinic with a 10 day wait to get a phone consultation and called another with 4 day wait, just hoping I'll get the tablets soon after the call as I'll be 7+ weeks by then, then I'll cancel the other clinic, I assume due to COVID we don't need to get a scan done?
Feeling scared about what's to come, this is something I've never done before and won't get into this situation again.

Sorry to hear you're having a difficult time.

During the consultation, they'll ask you a few questions such as whether you're sure of your last period dates etc. They'll then decide whether you can have the pills in the post or whether you'll need a scan.

timeforchangeagain · 06/01/2021 16:35

Thanks @jammyrodger I managed to get an appointment in clinic this afternoon, had a scan and going back for tablets tomorrow, they were very reassuring saying it will be like a bad period at 6 weeks.
