Please help..... I'm due to have a surgical termination on Wednesday and I'm petrified and keep thinking I'm going to die

maisons

I had medical and surgical management of a miscarriage and I would recommend the surgical option.

I found the medical one to be horrendous and it failed in the end. The surgical was far more straightforward. I panicked on the operating table when they were putting the anaesthetic in and I was gripping the nurses hand asking them to keep me safe and not let me die.

Needless to say, I woke up an hour later and it was all over.

Be kind to yourself x

I totally understand this fear. Just tell yourself that you're in safe hands, and the likelihood of anything going wrong is absolutely minute.

Hopefully you'll come round feeling relieved that you did the right thing for yourself and your family, and can move on.

The waiting and anticipation is the worst part. Flowers

@Maisonsmum Thank you. I'm doing better physically this time round which is nice. Oh lovely, sometimes whilst we're all trying to muddle along, our paths will take us on a bit of a trek. If you honestly feel that this is what is best (and I'm hoping you've spoken to people about it and have been given some good options and advice), then don't give some judgementals the time of day.

I've only had the tablet on the day of the surgery, is there no way that maybe they can do just that? Or have I maybe got confused with something else? :3 Wishing you all the best

I was told I go for the tablet Tuesday am then i come home. Then go back in on Wednesday at 7.30 am and will have 2 inserted vaginaly before surgery as I have had 3 c sections in the past.

I have talked to many many people about this decision. But I still can't help punishing myself no matter what I do

So so scared. Been throwing up tonight as I have to go for mifepristone at 9am in the morning and then come home. What will happen when I have taken this tablet?

I honestly don't know how it works OP but it's something many women will have done and got through it, and you will too. Try to distract yourself in the meantime. Not too long to go now.
