OP, I TOTALLY understand your shock. My DC2 was conceived 6 months after DC1 was born, with severe hypospadias. I was fully intending to get DC1 through his surgery (which I was told would take 3 years) before conceiving again. I had had a traumatic delivery with DC1 and could not face giving birth again. We were also house sitting, and were told the day of my scan that we had 6 weeks to move out. I had just gone back to work and had to tell my manager I was 4 months pg. I totally panicked. I cried through my booking in apt and was referred to a maternity psychiatric nurse. BUT, abortion did not occur to me and my DH was delighted and supported me through it (as did the psych nurse) and DC2 is now 6 years old. DC1's hypospadias was repaired. No more hospitals. Then we had DC3 with a normal 3 year age gap. Then in October I fell pg again and was devastated (and posted here under name Ohdeargawd). A 4th child would have broken me and my husband. I could not see a way out, I did not want to be pg but I did not want an abortion. But my stronger feeling was that I did not want another baby so I had the abortion. I then also had a shocker for 3 months after when my HCG levels went mental and I had to have weekly blood tests but that's just a one off, am sure it wouldn't happen to you. Life throws curveballs and you do the best you can do. Take your time to consider your options as one regret I have from my abortion is that I rushed into it (organised it straight away and had it done at 6+6 days) Every day when pg feels like a long time, but the more time you have to make up your mind, the more at peace you will be with your decision afterwards. Good luck.

Well said Palmer. Hope the OP is ok after having her thread so inappropriately hijacked. Dreadful, insensitive posting by 2under2.
