I am 8 weeks pregnant & had a takeaway last night as I didn't know what I fancied to eat.
Since the early hours of this morning I have ssuffered from diarrhoea & am worried I may have eaten something nasty & affected the baby. DP also had the takeaway but he has been fine.
Would I be more prone to diarrhoea during early pregnancy?

Hey,

I have had diarrhoea since 3.5 weeks pregnant (yes, before i found out!) and i am now 7 weeks according to an early dating scan and i have had on and off, mainly on diarrhoera for the best part of 4 weeks! It is really getting me down. It is usually after i have eaten. I wont go too much into my story as I suffer from inflammatory bowel disease and don't want to worry you. I have been forced to take the odd loperimide as i didnt want to get dehydrated and end up in hospital again.

Speak to your doctor if it persists and speak to your doctor sooner if you feel you are struggling to keep hydrated.

I have done much research through clinical papers and mums' own opinions and diarrhoea in pregnancy seems to be as common as constipation. Id love to be constipated again like i was with my 2nd pregnancy!

"Loose bowels" is actually one of the symptoms of early pregnancy! I'm experiencing the same, and no spicey or odd food here.

I had projectile runs for around twelve weeks (mostly first trimester). It was appalling. I would not worry about it being unusual.

My stomach was all over the place in early pregnancy. I was either going all the time or not at all. I seemed to be randomly sensitive to dairy (possibly a fluke). If you generally feel ok chalk it up to being one of those icky things no one tells you about pregnancy!
