Bugaboo Bee - what colour would you get?

Apologies if not the right forum for this but I'm trying to decide what colour Bugaboo Bee to get. The choice is black, khaki, blue, pink, yellow and red.

I think I like the yellow, but am I brave enough?

What would you do?

Hi CracklinRosie. I suspect you'll get more replies in the Pushchairs section, so perhaps repost there?

In response to your OP - I went for a red one.

capstock · 02/12/2009 12:41

red, I like yellow but think it would show the dirt more

bigpreggybelly · 02/12/2009 12:47

Don't bother, all the colours are hideous. Go for an iCandy peach in sweetpea or an iCandy cherry in mulberry - much nicer.

Pineapplechunks · 02/12/2009 12:50

My two friends who had babies last year both bought bugaboo bees, one a pink and one a yellow.

The yellow gets dirty very easily and in the summer attracted all the flies-not a good ldea.

The pink is nice if you're having a girl but I think I'd be dull/safe and go for black if I were you.

BikeRunSki · 02/12/2009 12:58

My pushcahir (not a Bugaboo) is red. I chose it because I thought it would be an easier colour to sell when we are finished with it than anything blantyly girly/boysy. Or would be appropriaet if we had another DC of either sex.

RockBird · 02/12/2009 12:58

Red, would do for both, is nice and bright but you won't feel like you're pushing a lemon down the road

bitofadramaqueen · 02/12/2009 13:00

I've got a khaki one myself, but a friend got the black one but got the red footmuff etc which looks quite nice!

santaschristmascakeywakey · 02/12/2009 13:07

I'd go for black and mix up the accessories like dramaqueen's friend suggests. I'd also get a faaaaabulous changing bag

ronshar · 02/12/2009 13:11

I would get a better Pram altogether.

WinterWonderland · 02/12/2009 13:18

Why ronshaw? Bugaboo Bees get great reviews and the OP has already decided on it and is looking for advice from Bee fans as to which colour to get.

If you don't have or like the Bee, then what would inspire you to open the thread and post at all?

WinterWonderland · 02/12/2009 13:26

Meant to add that I love the yellow too but would probably play a bit safer and get the red.

allaboutme · 02/12/2009 13:29

I have the yellow!
I love the pram, but having had it 2 years now it IS looking a little grubby and I do unfortunately attract all the flies in the summer!!
I do get lots of comments like 'oh what a lovely cheerful pram' from old ladies though, so thats nice
If I had to choose again I'd get the khaki or royal blue I think!

OtterInaSkoda · 02/12/2009 13:34

(other than the flies and dirt issues) What exactly is brave about choosing yellow?
Sorry - I know I sounds arsey but it's a pram. It doesn't have to go with your colouring or match your handbag even
Choose whichever colour you like best.

OtterInaSkoda I wasn't suggesting I should get a medal for choosing yellow! I didn't mean brave in the sense of de-activating landmines or anything!

"Choose whichever you like best" - so glad you logged on to tell me that.

hanaflower do you think the blue would work for boy or girl equally?

I love yellow buggies, so I'd go for it!

ronshar · 02/12/2009 14:10

Sorry didnt mean to sound arsey. but I dont like the Bugaboo. It is hard to fit in a car boot, hard to fold down, not very easy to get a baby in and out of because of the bar that goes over the top. Also if you are tall it is too short.
Yes I shouldn't have posted in the first place. Sorry

I would go for red myself. Love red pushchairs. I have three

Fruitbatlings · 02/12/2009 14:15

I bought my Bee second hand (on MN) it came with a red hood but I bought a blue one as I preferred that colour. I have the red for when I get bored.
Why not buy it in yellow and get an extra hood for when you get bored? Or is that extravagant

bearhunter · 02/12/2009 18:29

We're looking at getting black too. Agree that yellow looks a bit grubby after a while.

Ronshar, are you thinking of the Cameleon? I'm surprised you say that the Bee is hard to fit in a car boot, as we can't find a suitable alternative that's smaller. What do you have?

Also, I don't know which bar you mean that goes over the top - are you thinking of the Cameleon?

I only ask because we're on a mad pushchair hunt (due Feb) and we can't find anything that beats the Bee so far. My main concern is seat size and the fact that they're bringing out a new improved model early next year, but prob too late for us.

stressheaderic · 02/12/2009 18:34

Colleen Rooney has the cream/beige one, if that influences your choice at all... (shame on me for even knowing that).

allaboutme · 02/12/2009 18:40

oooh i didnt know you could get new hoods seperate!

Vivia · 02/12/2009 18:49

Kate Garraway also has the cream/beige one which looks mucky according to daily mail photos

I think bugaboos are just too ten-a-penny now. I live in Edinburgh and Bugaboos come along like buses. It's the symbol of 'yummy mummy' in a negative way here. I always thought they were quite cute, especially in red, but I'm sick of the sight of them. They are the baby version of the VW Polo round here!

EldonAve · 02/12/2009 18:53

black or red

yellow is awful and you will attract flies in the summer

whichwitchisthis · 02/12/2009 19:10

I had the blue and loved it

You could get one made from chunklemunkle they are lovely
