okay i have posted before about being confused about scan dates anyone that can clear this up 4 me id b so grateful xx

I know scans are dated from your lmp, so does conceptions occur about 2 weeks after they think you had a period? how is a pregnancy counted is it counted from implantation and then two weeks back to where your period should have been? or from when they think you concieved and the two weeks back to your period at which week of pregnancy does the egg implant in the uterus? would this mean your period was two weeks before this time? someone pleaseeee explain xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I think by that your first sex date must be when you concieved and maybe the period wasnt actually a period but a conception/inplantation bleed

bronze · 14/01/2009 16:37

out of interest why did you first suspect you were pregnant/take the test?

sparklingreactions · 14/01/2009 16:37

As NorktasticNinja said its bcoz i must have ovulated alot later in that cycle i think i understand now xxx

OK, I've done my best and I've had enough (am pregnant and cranky).

I understand your obsession, I was quite obsessive about some stuff in my first pregnancy, BUT, to be frank it actually doesn't matter precisely when you conceived. The baby will give the signal to be born exactly when he/she is ready and will take no account of EED, LMP, or any other date or time!

I hate to be indiscreet, but if you are trying to work out how the daddy is it's the chap from the 15th / 16th.

sparklingreactions · 14/01/2009 16:38

my dates dont tie in atall to the first sex xxx

NorktasticNinja · 14/01/2009 16:38

ooops lots of Xs there!

Lulumama · 14/01/2009 16:39

you really, really need to stop stressing about this one aspect of your pregnancy. is there a possibility that there is an issue over who the father of the baby is ? sorry to be so blunt, but so many threads again and again about dating of a pregnancy is raising the question in my mind

if not, then a difference of 4 days makes no difference at all whatsoever

your due date is estimated anyway, based on a 28 day cycle

sparklingreactions · 14/01/2009 16:39

oh sorry hun no i wasnt i was just abit confused as to how it all works im only 18 and the mws kinda fob me off abit sorry if i anoyed u xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

OP posts:
bronze · 14/01/2009 16:40

ah well as long as you know roughly when you're due which means you're well along now 31weeks ish I guess

Lulumama · 14/01/2009 16:40

xposted with norktastic

bronze · 14/01/2009 16:43

x posted with everyone

it does get confusing doesn it because it depends when you try and work things out from and as nobdies body fits the jig they use to work these things out its never quite right.
Best to go by the scan dates and stop worrying

Lulumama · 14/01/2009 16:43

i have explained a lot of this to you already

there is really no need to stress yourself out so much about this

your baby is measuring right for the date you have been given as your EDD, your baby will be be born when he/she is ready

sparklingreactions · 14/01/2009 16:44

sorry if iv upset or anoyed anyone i just wanted 2 understand it all abit more thanx for your help anyway girls means alot xxx

Lulumama · 14/01/2009 16:49

it is just concerning you are fixated on this one aspect of pregnancy, and are not taking on board what is being told to you

the only reason i could think this would be such an issue if there was an issue over paternity

if this is not the case, tehn you really need to seek some help re your anxiety

georgimama · 14/01/2009 16:51

Haven't read whole thread but you are really stressing about this precise pinpointing business.

Sorry if I cause offence but...

Are you by any chance worried about paternity? I can't see any other reason why you would need to know the exact date of conception.

NorktasticNinja · 14/01/2009 16:52

Don't worry sweetie

I'm glad you understand now! It must be tough not knowing what's happening and there must be other stresses worries too.

Maybe you could start a thread to discuss you other worries and uncertainties about the pregnancy and becoming a mum?

sparklingreactions · 14/01/2009 16:53

its not a paternity issue an i know im making abit of a deal of it i just like to understand things completely its not just this i have abit of a problem i cant rest until i know how something works sorry if im abit annoying i dont know how my bf copes with me haha xxx

Basically everythings normal you just have a really long cycle which means that ovulation i smuch longer after your lmp than it would be for most people

sparklingreactions · 14/01/2009 16:55

yeah its all a new big thing 2 me really im prbably just stressing over this one thing to stop me thinking about whats to come im really happy that iv bin given the chance t have a baby as had a cyst on my ovaries and had to have one removed im only young but its still a blessing to have a baby i supose im just abit overwhelmed by it all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

NorktasticNinja · 14/01/2009 16:55

It is a pregnant woman's prerogative to be stressy, worried and vaguely obsessive!

Let it go, you won't get a more full or detailed explanation than those already given, I promise!

Lulumama · 14/01/2009 16:56

sperm can live for up to 7 days, you might have ovulated later, so it is i,possible to pinpoint the day of conception, so an average cycle of 28 days with ovulation and conception aroudn day 14 is presumed for all women

littlelamb · 14/01/2009 16:57
Hmm
NorktasticNinja · 14/01/2009 16:58

x again!

There are a lot of young mums on here, post a thread asking to talk to them about it. It'll help! Being a mum is heaven and hell regardless of your age

Well, look at her past posts. And consider the people who have been called out as trolls in the past week. I hate to do it, I really do but this just reeks of the same.
