I am feeling really "blah" today!

yes i know i am lucky to be pregnant, yes i know it's a blessing not a god given right to have a child etc etc but today i just feel generall sorry for myself and wish i could remove my bump for for 24hrs and eat normally, have a bottle of wine, go for a run and wear normal clothes - oh and sleep normally!!

I am 23 weeks gone and am having my C section in 15 weeks so i know i have a looooooooong way to go!

I am fed up of being told i am like a 3yr old - stroppy and incontinent

I am tired of achey ribs and being breathless

I am tired of waking up at 5.30 EVERY morning for a drink and a wee

I am tired of cooking a fab meal every night only to not fancy it

I am tired of people telling me not to drink cherry coke or eat sweets - bugger off! it's my one pleasure!

And i am tired of the shops being full of nice things i can't fit in to!!

sorry, i just fancied a moan!! (I'm also really tired of this crappy weather but that's not pregnancy related!)

Please, post your moan here and lets all feel rubbish together - i promise i am leaving my moans at the door though and will be smiling and pleasant (or snappy) to everyone i meet!!!

LOL Pontpine at the windscreen wiper solution! I am Zimbabwean so am probably one of the few who is enjoying the weather. However I am also sitting in an air conditioned office. Just love seeing the sun although I can't experience it! Of course I do not have to deal with my toddler who is at nursery. I do sympathise with all of you who are suffering.

MiniMarmite · 24/07/2008 16:20

Hi All,
I'm back today to whinge again...it is toooooooooooo hot today. DH has finished the floor but not yet moved the furniture back so I feel like I am camping. Oh, and, apparently the combination of pregnancy and a cold means that I am snoring like a horse...what do horses snore like anyway?

My baby is a boy too!

TheDoctorsWife46 - thanks for your other post re hospital bag(s) by the way - I had the same question! I think at nearly 37 weeks my bag planning should be a little more advanced that it is

Tinkerisdead · 24/07/2008 20:45

MM glad the hospital bag thing helped, i was pmsl as i just more confused.

gem1981 · 24/07/2008 22:01

Evening all!!
Just had a v traumatic time battling a HUGE spider - and eventually managed to move it out of the house - feel all creeped out now
(uughhh!!!)

Feeling not soo bad today - very lucky to have Mum come over and pick up DS as I think she twigged I was struggling - she picked him up this pm and I just crashed on the sofa has a quick look at MN and fell asleep.

must have really needed it - and the best thing is I don't feel guilty one bit !!!

Hope all of you are coping ok with the heat (if its hot where you are)

minimarmite - glad to hear your house is coming together,

Pontypine · 25/07/2008 08:50

Hi Everyone!

i actually had an ok ish day yesterday! spent the day with 2 friends at my house who have babies - one is 8 days old and the other is 6 months - and then in the evening we had to go to a "fun" thing in a local town - a raft race! My OH enters it every year and his team has won it for 6yrs now.

anyway, i was feeling really tired with friends left at 3pm and the had to do the "club run" of taking DS swimming and also managed to find time to take some stuff to charity shop! Then we had to go about 10miles for this bloomin race and i had to stand for about 3hrs - not one person would give up a space on a wall for a pregnant lady! Rude tossers!!!

Then i ended up having to drive home as OH had some beers (lucky lucky me) and then we went back to our friends' house until 11 and now i am shattered and so are the kids!! I think the sofa is calling me this morning with a nice DVD - hmmm, hairspray or high school musical? (4yr old DD! lol)

It's really sticky here today and looks like it needs to thunder, no sunshine today! i will be sitting in front of my fan most of the day!

On a positive note, i am off for a 4D scan tomorrow!! Yiiipppeee!!

oh, one more moan, i can't stop sneezing, i have sore eyes and i am bunged up! can't believe i still have hayfever! For all other congested pregzillas - get some breath easy nose strips for bedtime, they are £6 for 10 but my god do they help you sleep!!

Thanks Gem, all looking much better today as chairs are back where they belong and everyfink!

Glad you're feeling chirpier Pontypine.

Thank crunchie it's Friday (can you tell I'm a child of the 80's?!)

FoghornLeghorn · 25/07/2008 08:57

Can I join in too ?

I'm 37+4 and something switched in me yesterday and now I am totally fed up and want my baby out now now now now now !!!!
Have been totally laid back and sailed through this pregnancy up, up until Wednesday I was quite happy plodding along, not overly bothered about the prospect of potentially having another 5 weeks left but now it's all changed and the thought of another 5 weeks in unbearable

Pontypine · 25/07/2008 10:39

LOL at minimarmite - i have just eaten a crunchie!! ha ha!! i even ate all the chocolate from round the edge and then sucked the honeycomb!!

I really want a stick of rock!!!

OP posts:
gem1981 · 25/07/2008 10:49

i have just put in an order for a pot noodle and waiting for it to arrive - hhhmmmmmm

Pontypine · 25/07/2008 10:51

oooooh pot noodle!!! I am going to have a nice cheese and onion roll (even though onion gives me heartburn!)

I am currently guzzling cherry coke - i am such a healthy pregnant person! lol!

OP posts:
Briwish · 25/07/2008 11:52

Yes the office is throwing me a baby shower/leaving do at a Thai restaurant at lunch today - only problem is I can probably not eat a thing on the menu without heartburn ho hum!

Have had many comments today about the "holiday" I am about go on - ha ha ha.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 25/07/2008 19:06

Please let me join the moaning - I am 28 weeks and feeling swell

Fed up of looking after a tempermental nearly four year old and a lovely but difficult 2 year old.

Fed up of being hot

Fed up of the inability to get comfortable at night and not being able to get an uninterrupted nights sleep.

Really fed up with being grumpy mummy

fed up with being too tired in the evening to enjoy a couple of hours respite from the children

And now thanks to the news today I am alo feeling guilty for having a 3rd child - nice.

Still nice to get it off my (currently enormous) chest!

gem1981 · 25/07/2008 19:15

Briwish - hope you enjoyed your meal today and the heartburn didn't ruin it too much (holiday??? LOL)

piles have arrived HORAAAAHHHHHHHH
can add that to the list now with.....

heartburn
ever decreasing bladder, lung capacity and stomach space
stretchmarks
tired feet and ankles
tiredness

and when you add that to random episodes of shouting/crying (Hormones!!)

I must be a pleasure to live with at the mo!!

Pontypine · 25/07/2008 21:31

Ah the joys of pregnancy!

You feel more thirsty - but also have a smaller bladder

You feel more hungry - but everything makes you feel sick

You feel more tired - but can not sleep

Isn't it a wonderous thing?!?!

On a side note, i popped in to weymouth earlier (seaside town local to me) and got some stick of rock and honeycomb. I now feel pants because i have had too much sugar, my teeth hurt from crunching rock and i have indigestion!! Yay!!

OP posts:
Minniethemoocher · 28/07/2008 18:20

I have just come home from work, no air conditioning, boiling hot office and I am feeling hot, fat and fed up!

26 weeks pregnant and 44 years old and feeling the heat!

Ribs ache, keep wanting to sleep on my back, but apparently it is bad for the blood flow to the baby, wish that DD wouldn't keep waking up at the crack of dawn.

MiniMarmite · 28/07/2008 19:11

Gem, I had a pot noodle (chicken and mushroom only) craving for my entire 1st trimester (13 weeks thinking about PNs was slightly worrying perhaps - for DH more than me I think). I managed to resist but now I want one again - it's too hot to cook and DH is out so he wouldn't even know if I waddled down to Sainsbury...

37+2 today and I'm sure the little one is telling me he wants to get out by banging his head on my bladder...fine by me!

BlueJellie · 28/07/2008 20:27

lovin this thread!

I'm sick of people asking me if I've got a pram yet, or if I've got a steriliser yet, etc etc etc. Then getting the 'look' when I say no. Why does evryone think your pregnancy is their buisness? Winds me up chronic! Never experienced rudeness quite as bad as since I've been pregnant!

pookamoo · 28/07/2008 21:01

Oh I couldn't agree more with ALL of you!
My feet are like piggies and I am fat and grumpy and TOO HOT!

Poor DH is suffering more than normal as I've been keeping him awake with my restlessness and insomnia.

If one more person tells me to put my feet up, I will gladly invite them over to do all the laundry, washing up and housework for me! Thanks to "putting my feet up" today, I now don't have a clean bra for the rest of the week. Which isn't fun when it's so hot and sticky! TMI? (sorry!).

Actually, right now, I don't really like being pregnant one little bit, and to everyone who tells me "you look really well" I'm sure they are lying, because how can you, on 4 hours sleep?!!!

At least we can all come on here and rant together!

(I'm 25 weeks, by the way)

Natalie1984 · 28/07/2008 21:24

Pontypine · 01/08/2008 17:39

I'm feeling really rubbish at the moment! Had a crappy week!

Felt rubbish on Tuesday so phoned maternity unit, was told to go straight up (10.30pm) - after an hour sat in a room on my own not being seen i left! phoned the midwife in the morning and they were very apologetic and sent someone to see me to do bloods and check urine. Found 2 pluses in urine and i was told to get anti biotics.

Started taking them Wednesday night and felt crapper! Spent all day yesterday in bed still feeling crap. Last night, i got up and had my tablet which i threw up straight away! Rang the unit and had to go up for an overnight stay.

I have different anti biotics now and i am so tired and feel so crap!!! I really hope i don't feel like this for the next 13 weeks!!!

OP posts:
MiniMarmite · 01/08/2008 18:37

Sorry to hear that Pontypine, that sounds rubbish. Hopefully the antibiotics will do the trick so that you'll feel a lot better next week...I'll keep my fingers crossed. In the meantime, I'd turn to chocolate for comfort!

gem1981 · 02/08/2008 08:27

hi
sorry to hear you feel rubiish ponty - I had a rubbish day yesterday too
I was waiting at a roundabout in my car and someone drove onto teh back of my car.
I had DS in the car too and MIL and we were quite shaken up

I have hurt my back from the impact and went to get checked out at A&E - Babe is fine thank goodness!!!

Its a bit cooler here this weekend

i have a growth scan on Modnay to see how big this one is going to be as DS was 9.3lbs

xxx

ajm200 · 02/08/2008 08:50

Sorry, Can I join in too.

I'm 30 weeks. Had to spend some time in hospital two weeks ago for pre-term labour that thankfully went away on its own.

DH has bd off to Singapore for a 4 day company sponsered holiday, sorry I mean business trip. He's texting me all the time telling me about the wonderful time he's having and how exhausted he is after drinking all night. Now his holiday has been extended due to flight problems and hes not due back for another 48hrs

My 2 yr old is teething, snooty and seriously missing his dad. I've got no family nearby and I'm seriously tired after lots of loo trips and calming my son very hour or so all night for the past week. Really fed up. Have constant heartburn too

Gonna make him pay out of a clarins mummy's massage and pampering day when he gets back here.

Moan and rant over I promise

Pontypine · 02/08/2008 09:18

A clarins mummy massage??? Please tell me more....

I am after a pregnancy massage OR a manicure! I need a pamper!!!

What do i want to do MOST at the moment out of everything i can't do? no, not wear normal clothes, wear heels, eat crap, drink wine.....i REALLY REALLY want to lie on my front!!! AHHH the bliss!!!

If only i could remove my uterus for 24hrs and let OH look after baby!!

Could you imagine though, we are bad enough - how would men cope being pregnant!!!

OP posts:
ajm200 · 02/08/2008 12:36

I know what you mean, I remember being really big with swollen ankles last time round and hating it. So far this pregnancy, I'm not doing to badly, 7 months gone, 6lbs on and was still in my ordinary jeans a month ago. I was looking longingly at the pizza takeaway menu last night but had a big bowl of fruit instead.

The mummys massage is lovely, seated in a chair leaning forwards onto the bed to get your back rubbed then arms, legs and tummy done whle laying on the bed. It includes a mini facial too. Last pregnancy I had one done and it was bliss.

I used the spa in the Brighton Hilton last time but some of the smaller red rooms in Debenhams stores offer the service too. I think virgin vie spas in virgin healthclubs offer something similar and are open to non-members.

I know what you mean about men, my OH got in such a state when i was in labour last time that the MW suggested he went for a walk to compose himself and I was doing all the work
