No dye stealer??

LemonCheesecake95 · 19/04/2026 19:20

I am caught up on the fact I am around 5 weeks 4 days and still haven’t seen a dye stealer. A lot of places are saying it’s very hyped up on TTC forums and most often than not, people don’t get them but that’s all I seem to be seeing. Line progression seems normal I believe? Anyone else not had a dye stealer?

I have had 2 miscarriages, 1 missed miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy and didn’t even get as dark as these photos so I’m hoping for a sticky baby!

No dye stealer??

If these are the one step tests youre using, then they're notorious for not getting v dark.

Someone told me this yesterday so thank you again for the confirmation! Makes me feel a lot better x

Hi lovely, how are you feeling today?

I know you had planned a scan for tomorrow anyway so it’s good the EPAU were able to make an appointment quickly.

It could be too early at 6 weeks to see anything but hopefully having the scan will give you some peace of mind. Take care x

Popiscle · 21/04/2026 21:51

All the best for your scan OP.

Hi OP. Completely understand if you don’t want to update this thread but I just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you.

Hi OP. Completely understand if you don’t want to update this thread but I just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you.

Sorry I didn’t see any of the previous posts! I went to EPAU yesterday and they couldn’t see anything and put me down as PUL. Had my bloods drawn yesterday, Nurse was supposed to ring me before 4 but didn’t so I’m hoping for a call this morning. Bloods then to be taken on Friday and we’ll go from there as to what’s going on.

After the scan, I wiped and there was red blood. Immediately feared the worst and told my partner I thought I was miscarrying. However no pain or anything. Throughout the day, the blood was getting less and less so wondering if the scan irritated something etc.

So other than a miscarriage as I don’t have any pain, and my last 3 were excruciating, I’m left with it being too early (those tests you see were from 19DPO as I tested negative at 13DPO and just left them - I have PCOS) or an ectopic 🙃 trying not to panic but easier said than done

Please do not apologise! I can imagine yesterday was a very intense day for you.

A scan this early may still not show anything, but I really hope you hear back from the nurse soon regarding your bloods so you have some answers.

The transvaginal scans can definitely cause some irritation and bleeding afterwards.

Keeping you in my thoughts and sending love your way x

Thank you so much. You read so much on the internet of people in similar situations and it really does go either way!

How is everything with you?

Honestly! I think these forums can be really useful to see the experience of others and build a network of support, and help us to feel less lonely in this journey but ultimately every pregnancy is different and what happens for one person may not happen for someone else!

I am doing okay thank you, still abroad until next Wednesday so I can't book in for any blood tests or scans just yet

I wish I was abroad! 😂

Holding onto hope the nurse calls me this morning, I wish we got the results straight to the NHS app to he honest.

Funnily enough, I also have an IVF appointment today so god knows how that is going to go 😅

HoneyPeaches · 23/04/2026 08:19

Waiting for the results is horrible and brings so much anxiety. Did the nurse give you a time estimate of when she’d call?

Are you still going to attend your IVF appt?

She said by 4 yesterday or she’d ring me in the morning if my bloods weren’t analysed by then.

I rang the IVF clinic this morning and nobody answered or has responded to the voice mail so we’re still going to go as we both have results to get

After the appointment I’ll ring the EPAU and see if they can give me blood results if she hasnt already called

HoneyPeaches · 23/04/2026 09:58

Fingers crossed you hear back soon then! The wait is the worst 😔 look after yourself.

Annoying that you haven’t been able to reach the IVF clinic but I agree it’s best to just go in person especially if you have results you need. It’s so important to advocate for yourself!

Thankfully they have got back to me and the clinic is going to still run with the appointment but over the phone so that’s at 11:30.

Still nothing regards bloods so I’ll ring after unless the IVF clinic can see on their system.

I did the really stupid thing of testing 25 minutes after I had my last wee because I had one rogue test left, literally looked like water in the cup and there was hardly a line there so my mind is now spiralling. Keep talking to myself by saying I should have clearer answers tomorrow

Oh that’s good, saves you the hassle of travelling and all that. Definitely worth asking if the IVF clinic can see the results - is that also part of the NHS?

Honestly how hydrated you are can really make a difference. Funnily enough, I made a post on here just over a week ago panicking because I did a test that was very obviously lighter than the day before and subsequent tests were also light, but I had drank a huge amount of water that day it just diluted my wee so much. The next day with FMU I had a really dark line!

Please know I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you. My results came back at 238 as the IVF clinic could access them. She said based on the dating, I would be on the lower side of HCG at this point but that doesnt matter, it’s obviously the second bloods that matter.

For my last menstrual period, she said these levels would probably be too low but as I got a negative at 14dpo and a positive at 19/20, this could indicate late implantation and put me behind. She said I also could have ovulated up to 72 hours after peak test which was the 24/25th March so I may not have ovulated until 27th/28th March max and then if I implanted around 12-14dpo it would date me as 9th-11th April and with now being 23rd and 12-14 days later, it’s more like 4 weeks when you add the additional 2 weeks from start of the period on top.

She baffled my brain a little with it all - she is a lovely lady and I think really hoping for this to be a positive for me so trying to paint a good picture.

Here’s to hoping however I have had a little bit more red spotting so could go either way at this point

Brilliant that the clinic could access your results and so you don’t have to keep waiting around for the EPAU call.

I think the most important thing is that your HCG doubles in 48 hours. What time is your appointment tomorrow for the second bloods?

It definitely seems you implanted later if you tested 14dpo and still had a negative test. Did you test at all between 14dpo and 19dpo? If you don’t know exactly when you would have first tested positive it can skew the dates!

How are you feeling? X

Nope I didnt test inbetween! Fuming with myself that I didn’t but would never have thought it would turn positive then. It’s the top test in the image.

not sure how to feel, I think her trying to explain it as something positive has got my head ticking even though I was preparing for bad news. It’s just strange I don’t have any pain what so ever. In my eyes it’s either early or an ectopic. Unless the light bleed yesterday afternoon was the miscarriage which I’d be shocked about as it’s nowhere near like what I’ve experienced x

It’s easy to be annoyed in hindsight but if you tested negative at 14dpo it’s understandable why you’d think you weren’t pregnant! It’s very obviously positive by 19dpo so it’s just about trying to establish when it would have first been positive within those 5 days although it’s impossible to know at this stage!

Some bleeding can be normal and if you aren’t as far along as initially thought it could have maybe been some implantation bleeding? X

I don’t think so - I’ve got bad cramps now :(

I’m really sorry to hear this. I pray that everything goes well for you tomorrow.

I have also been cramping throughout this week which I have been super worried about. It’s all scary isn’t it and makes it hard to be excited

Unfortunately, this pregnancy has ended in miscarriage at six weeks and two days. My fifth miscarriage and I’m absolutely devastated. I hope in the near future I can come and update this and see that all of you are progressing or I’ve had your beautiful babies. I wish everyone so much luck and love x

Oh sweetheart I am so, so, so sorry for your loss and for all of the heartbreak you have been through. I know there is nothing I can say to ease the pain but I am keeping you in my thoughts. Sending you all the love in the world xx
