i can't have been pregnant for 14 weeks and only just started getting symptoms can i? for some strange reason i feel pregnant. i also had a period last month but it only lasted 2 or 3 days and i'd come off the pill so not sure if it counts iyswim. did a test and couldn't see anything at all then i swear in the last minute the faintest line ever appeared. surely it would have come up much sooner than that and stronger if i was 14 weeks?

either way we're all here to support you xxx

CarGirl · 17/06/2008 12:55

I thought if you got pregnant whilst taking the pill correctly it actually means that the pill doesn't really work for you and therefore NOT to rely on it as a method contraception in the future.

nappyaddict · 17/06/2008 12:55

it was 4am ... does that count as first wee?

i think it was like a grey shadowy line.

if it was several hours since your last one!

did you read the test within the specified time? that is quite importnat.

a line that comes up quickly is more likely to be a BFP than one that appears 20 minutes later

fifisworld · 17/06/2008 12:57

I thought grey lines were evap lines..could be wrong though..

nappyaddict · 17/06/2008 12:59

it said the reaction time was 5 mins and not to read after 10 mins. i was staring at it constantly for the 5 mins - nothing appeared til about 4 mins.

no it prob wasn't several hours cos i don't think i went to bed until 12:30-1ish.

Have you got any more tests?

lulumama · 17/06/2008 13:25

hmmmm, i would be inclined to get another test. local pharmacy might offer free urine tests.. check with them

nappyaddict · 17/06/2008 13:33

got the tests. shall i wait until first thing tomorrow?

OP posts:
lulumama · 17/06/2008 13:34

it would be better as the HcG, if present would be strongest then, but if you are a bit further along, i am not so sure re levels... can you phone FPC for advice/

Upwind · 17/06/2008 13:35

If it has been a while since you urinated I would use a test now.

Best of luck!

fifisworld · 17/06/2008 13:37

I would test as well, if you havent had sex for so long then it should show up anyway as you'd be quite far along

belcantavinissima · 17/06/2008 17:09

any news na?

nappyaddict · 18/06/2008 07:43

lulumama · 18/06/2008 07:44

ok, sorry you are sad. might be time to sit down and have a good think about things and what you want.

belgo · 18/06/2008 07:46

NA - you are still very young - having more children is something you can look forward to in the future - and enjoy life now as it is.

nappyaddict · 18/06/2008 07:54

i know it's for the best but when you convince yourself that you are and you start looking forward to it it's a bit of a disappointment to find out you aren't. the pains returned last night and early this morning but have gone again now so i have decided to go to the doctors. really hope it's not ectopic. wish i hadn't cancelled that appointment now!

OP posts:
Tutter · 18/06/2008 07:55

hi na, sorry to read this. good idea to get it checked out, but unlikely to be ectopic if the pg was negative x

nappyaddict · 18/06/2008 08:04

apparently ectopic pregnancies have low levels of HCG and can mean you don't get a positive result :S

OP posts:
Upwind · 18/06/2008 08:59

Best of luck at the GP

spendalittlelivealot · 18/06/2008 09:44

hope all goes well at gps. sorry u didnt get the result u wanted x

mammyjo · 18/06/2008 09:50

Hope you are ok NA. Sorry you were sad at the neg result. Take care xx

AitchTwoCiao · 18/06/2008 10:00

not at 14 weeks, i'd have thought. for an ectopic to hang on that long without fatally injuring you, it'd have to be somewhere with a fairly good blood supply and a bit of space. this is completely possible, of course, you can have ovarian or abdiminal eps, but your hcg levels would also probably be high enough to trigger a test. get to the docs all the same, though, nappies.

AitchTwoCiao · 18/06/2008 10:00

abdominal.

nappyaddict · 18/06/2008 12:06

well that was a waste of time. doc seemed none the wiser than me. she took a urine sample and told me to go back tuesday for the results.
