I am 33F, yearning, hoping, praying for a husband and family one day. But alas, here I am, as single as a Pringle, after calling it quits like 6ish months ago with my ex.

I am low-key scared that I am going to be too old to have kids or have a really difficult pregnancy because of my age. And I want two kids, at least O.O

I was on dating apps for a while after the breakup, went out on a few decent dates but eventually deleted all my profiles after getting fed up with all the losers on them.... SIGH I guess I will give OLD another try soon. Maybe it will be better now that the the breakup is more of a distant memory.

I was 21. Then 24,29,33. Then I had 3 miscarriages. We really wanted a 5th but it never happened even with 6 months of treatment. I’m the wrong side of 45 now so that dreams well and truly over.

Notsure31 · 30/10/2025 08:11

3 miscarriages at 28 with an ex partner after thinking that was my time to have a baby/settle down, unexpectedly broke up, spent a year single and dating, met my now fiancé, dated for 2 years before moving in, got pregnant again December 2024 but unfortunately ended in TFMR at 16 weeks in March due to a chromosome issue. Got pregnant again in August 2025 and it’s currently going ok at 13 weeks, I’m now 33. So although there’s been bumps along the way we are hopefully having a happy ending now.

ResusciAnnie · 30/10/2025 08:12

I was 25 but I’m 35 now and loads of my friends still haven’t started and aren’t worried. Oldest person I know to have a natural conception and perfectly healthy baby was 52!!

xMonochromeRainbowx · 30/10/2025 08:13

19, then 21 and 22. I'm pregnant again now and my fourth will be born when I'm 27.

dontforgetme · 30/10/2025 08:15

21 when I gave birth to my first and 25 with my 2nd.

Most of friends didn’t start having children til mid 30s op.

Hobbit90 · 30/10/2025 08:22

I will have just turned 38 when I have my first in January. Met my partner at 35 after similar situation to you

EllaPaella · 30/10/2025 08:24

Had mine at 23, 31 and 35. Lots of my younger colleagues are having first babies in their mid 30’s now.

Gowlett · 30/10/2025 08:26

Age 44, natural conception.

NetZeroZealot · 30/10/2025 08:29

35, 38

WildFinch · 30/10/2025 08:55

Met my DH on Hinge just before turning 37. Married just after 39. Now 26w at 40 after two MCs. Lots of people I know these days are late 30s early 40s.

Marlena1 · 30/10/2025 09:35

34 and 36.

I was in a similar situation to you at 33. Like a PP, I treated finding a man to have children with (as opposed to a man to date!) Like a part time job. I know it's area dependent but I'm pretty average at the school gates. The ones much younger than me have small babies as well as older so while they started earlier, they spaced them out and had more.

neleh87 · 30/10/2025 09:41

I was in the same position as you at 33 and was stressed and upset about it. I focused on staying as healthy as I could.

Anyway I'm 38 now with 2 healthy children. No problems with pregnancy, labour or recovery.

Placestogo · 30/10/2025 09:41

32, 34 and 36 yo
people have children later than that as well

Too young to be worried and too old to be saying "low-key" about anything.

In addition, I was 41 with my first, no fertility issues, got pregnant within 2 months of trying.

28 & 30 would you consider IVF and freezing your embyos ? Or donor sperm. Or a nice ( and willing) male friend ?

How would it have worked if they weren't willing? 🤔

Oh my reply has been hidden because I mentioned the website where I met my partner. Sorry, didn't know it wasn't allowed!
Had my baby at 40. Met my husband online when I was 38.

HelterSkelter224 · 30/10/2025 09:55

37 and 40, throughout my very long fertility journey consultants were adamant that fertility only really drops off at 37. Then I had a surprise pregnancy assuming I was infertile at 40 😂

january1244 · 30/10/2025 10:10

37 and 39, and considering a third when I will be 41. I didn’t have any issues in conceiving. Some of my friends still haven’t yet, but are planning to in late thirties and early forties. I think I saw a stat that 50% of women 41-44 will have a baby within a year of trying, which surprised me. But if I look back on my family tree, before contraception was readily available, people had babies into their forties.

Hopefully it’ll happen for you sooner, but I know that feeling of panic. There’s a lot of positive stories on this thread, and good advice

39, but I live in an area where the demographic very much leans towards older parents. Most of DD’s Y1 class parents have turned, or are imminently turning, 40.

AleynEivlys · 30/10/2025 10:30

26, then had my second (and final) at 29, but most other people I know were older, many well into their 30s. I think the average age now for your first baby as a woman is 31.

GRCP · 30/10/2025 10:30

33 and 35

When ds was in year 1 I was 21 and not only that but half his class seemed to be being raised by their grandparents in their 60s. Very awkward haha
