Pregnancy

I think I am having a miscarriage

After TTC for ages found out I was pregnant 3 weeks ago.

However yesterday when I wiped, there was some red blood on the tissue. Lost a little more, not much, over the next half an hour then it went quite watery. Cramps started a couple of hours after that then it all turned brown.

There was nothing this morning then at about 11, the backache started again and a very watery brown discharge. The cramps are mild and the discharge is faint but defo there.

Feel like shit to be honest and just want someone to hold my hand.

No more bleeding. Tummy still feels odd. Dunno what to think!!!

When I was pg with DD I was sick as a dog by now (am either 6+5 or 7 today)- do you think that has any significance? Does it mean the pg is weaker?

I know this is a silly question but am desperate for answers or reassurance.

I think each pregnancy is different and if anything 2nd pregnancies are often easier than the first. What are you going to do? Can you be seen by someone tomorrow for a scan?

Am gonna phone EPU as soon as they open and see if I can get in for a scan. We have got a private scan booked for next tuesday so may give them a ring and see if they will see me tomorrow if EPU arent helpful.

I do have a bad feeling about all this but I am ever the pessimist!!

I'm gonna have to call in sick at work tomorrow and tell them I am pg- not ideal but I want it handled properly. I don't want to be badgered with 'when will you be in?'. Hopefully if i tell them what is going on they will be more understanding. hopefully.

what kind of job do you have? some jobs are easier than others to juggle around home committments.

Please let us know what happens when you get the scan! I am like you from the minute I was pregnant with DS I was waiting to lose him. It was awful. But I didnt. Now I am TTC DC2 and I know I will be the same this time. I really feel for you.

M2O - I posted a very similar post a few months ago when I had some bleeding and spotting. Phone your GP's or the EPU and try and get a scan tomorrow.
If you're about 7 weeks then a scan will show a heartbeat, and they'll do another in a couple of weeks time to make it's all progressing well.

I had brown spotting, then cramps followed by heavier brown spotting. Then a couple of red splodges followed by nothing, then more brown bleeding with 'bits', lots and lots of 'bits'. This lasted a couple of weeks (wk5-7), then downgraded to faint spotting for the last week (wk8).

During the first two weeks I was majorly confused, I genuinely thought I was having a miscarriage but it didn't ever turn into a 'heavy period'. I'm now 20 weeks.

Not all bleeding means a miscarriage. Fingers crossed it's the same for you. Good luck with a getting a scan tomorrow.

Hi M2O, i know how you are feeling, and it really is a horrible worrying time to go through, in the hope of making you feel a little reassurance, i had to post and let you know that i had brownish bleeding and period like cramps on and off until i was about 12 weeks, the bleeds were always light, only really noticed when i wiped, it used to feel like i was getting a period when i had cramps although they were not severe or heavy cramps,i had 2 epu scans cos of this and all was ok, it did appear to be implantation bleeds, i am now 23 wks and have had no more incidents since then, i,m not telling you to ignore anything by any means, i was told that bright red blood or severe cramps can be danger signs but a brownish discharge type bleed is quite common, but try to stay positive and dont upset yourself .

Mummy2olivia - HAve just red the thread and really hope all is fine. Please let us know as soon as you know anything.

I am 12 + 5 today and have been really lucky with symptoms, lack of does not mean it is a weaker pregnancy. It just means the baby and the hormones are efecting you differntly.

Hi everyone.

Managed to get a scan today- had to go private but the clinic was very reputable and the staff were lovely.

And all is fine!!! The bean is TINY but had a little flickering heartbeat and dates are about right- prob a couple of days out. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and he said it looks like a 6 week embryo so that is ok too. Got a couple of pics and for the first time in ages have breathed a sigh of relief. It does seem as though the bleeds havent affected bean so were prob implantation. It just shocked me that the first couple of splodges were red but it did turn brown pretty quick. Consultant was not concerned at all.

Oh and a MAJOR thank you to Everyone!!!

Think we need to keep a 'I spotted whilst pregnant' thread going to advise and comfort those going through it- its soooooo scary but yet everyone seems to have it to some degree. weird.
