Ok guys hear me out.
got two beautiful babies with my husband
youngest is almost 1.. husband has a vasectomy 2 months ago as we agreed no more.
we had one blip outside of the time frame in terms of vasectomy (they say wait 6 months) on Xmas day night!
is this an evap line or am I pregnant??? I’ve heard of so many evap lines on clear blues!
im going mad here.

I'm confused how many people saying they think it's positive!! It's well known that clear blue are notorious for evaps and it's pretty clear that is an evap line as it's so thin. If it was positive the line would be as thick as the control line.

This. I am 99% sure that is an evap. It’s too thin. People always say evaps are colourless. But that isn’t true for clearblue. They are often very thin blue lines. I have had many!!!
My local early pregnancy unit tell people NOT to use those tests for this reason!

Mrsttcno1 · 09/01/2025 07:30

These tests are notorious for evap’s so I would try a different brand to be sure x

You can drink alcohol when breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is not a contraceptive. You can take the morning after pill when breastfeeding. Definitely need to get your information from evidence based reliable sources. Can’t understand why you’re saying the “blip” was his fault because he was drunk when you were actually the sober one in the situation, not that it matters. It does look like a positive line to me. What a mad situation, why bother with the vasectomy when you’re not going to follow the instructions for afterwards!

Edited

Probably because he was the one who ejaculated inside her? Just a guess

Loveyourlife24 · 09/01/2025 07:40

This is after 1 hour. I can’t believe how bad evap lines are. So misleading for those trying and I’m glad I never used this brand when I was actually trying!! I always used FRER. However they appear to not sell them locally now and only Amazon, hence having to buy clear blue!

They're not supposed to be read after an hour though. It's not the test being misleading when you don't follow the instructions.

MissEloiseBridgerton · 09/01/2025 08:00

Just for future reference, you got the wrong info from chemist.

I would say very early positive.

No33 · 09/01/2025 08:19

I think both CB are positive

Boxoo · 09/01/2025 08:32

@Loveyourlife24 sorry OP would you mind updating this in a week or so if it’s definitely negative? Purely to show people how bad clearblue tests can be? (Only if you have time of course. But I think it might be useful for future reference for people looking for answers about these tests)

HyggeTygge · 09/01/2025 09:22

Ffs tests shouldn't be sold that show a line when you're not pregnant "because they're notorious for evaps".

The first pic def looks positive to me without knowing anything about that brand of test.

If you need to be able to confidently differentiate between different types of line then they need to provide instructions on how to do that! And if they can't then they're useless!

Not ranting at anyone here, just the manufacturers. I always used FRERs.

Mamabear0202 · 09/01/2025 09:44

Looks like an evap to me. How long did it take to appear? And noticed you said your BF, I assume your periods have returned?

Mumof1andacat · 09/01/2025 09:55

Buy a digital test. Definitive answer then, but it might be worth testing after a missed period if you do miss one.

Periods returned very randomly.. like the odd day here and there. Not consistent. The only reason I knew I was ovulating (for a previous poster here who asked) was because I tracked these random periods in my app and I had one second week in December so 10-14 days later was Xmas day/night. I know I ovulate about 10-14 days after a period. I mean I could be wrong but I’m fairly sure it was my ovulation week and also I had the clear fluid (sorry for TMI).

happy to update the post with the FRER later

FRER have been withdrawn from high street sale due to the presence of false second lines, sometimes even visible before the test had been used.

Babybouncingg · 09/01/2025 10:08

Once your periods resume then it doesn’t matter if you are breastfeeding - BF provides nothing in the way of contraception any more.

Pottydrivinguspot · 09/01/2025 10:10

A) you can drink while BF and don’t need to pump and dump at all. As long as you’re safe to feed baby it’s fine.

b) I think you’re pregnant

c) I hope you’re ok!

TickerTape · 09/01/2025 10:14

Gosh. That looks like my early positive with DD (now 4m old) buuuut I have also seen plenty like it on clearblue which were evaps. Urgh the waiting is the worst whatever outcome you're hoping for.

All of the above

OTannenbaumOTannenbaum · 09/01/2025 10:40

I thought the first was an evap but the second looks like an early positive. I know you're not supposed to look after the time but I tried for years with infertility and used to unhealthily analyse tests. I never had a line like that outside the window unless I was pregnant.
Hope I'm wrong for you, op and it's just a lot of evaps.

Loveyourlife24 · 09/01/2025 22:34

Well, it looks like the evap line voters are the winners!

I should have also mentioned that I have had 3 chemical pregnancies before and they all had faint lines that faded. I did wonder if I was going through this.

That looks positive OP but I have also heard about evap lines on clearblue. When I tested positive on one I went straight out to get some Asda and first response tests too!
Coincidentally, my in laws 3rd son was conceived this way (vasectomy happened and they found out about pregnancy after) and they have always said how glad they were that he was and that he was the baby they needed to complete things and they didn’t even know it. If things go down that road for you then I hope you both feel the same way, whatever your decision is xx

Oh, I hadn’t seen that - such a little scroll up too 🤦🏼‍♀️
I guess evap line wins! I’m also preg with 2nd and once we’re over the line husband is booking a vasectomy so can also understand the other side of the coin!!

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 10/01/2025 00:54

Yep that looks like a negative OP. Hope you're feeling relieved not disappointed!
