I found out I was pregnant on 30th August. I had a an early scan on 22nd September I was 8 weeks. My midwife booked me in for my 12 week scan on 29th October and I was roughly 13 + 3/4 days couldn’t get accurate measurement as baby wouldn’t stay still. They gave me a due date of 2nd May due to 28 day cycle when my cycle was infact 31 day cycle. Who is the father to my baby ? I’m so upset with myself. Please no hate.

Did you sleep with anyone before the 3rd of august? Because if anything, the dates suggest a time slightly before this.

Dates are taking me to end of july/beginning of august so more likely the ONS guy then the ex but regardless you need a dna test to get a definite answer.

The NHS website calculator says you should of conceived around the 4th of August. Making you 21ish weeks pregnant.

Even counting 22 weeks back from today doesn't take you anywhere near 11th August.

Did you have a 12 week scan done? That one usually gives the most accurate dates.

The thing is though, that sperm can live for up to 5 days in your uterus/fallopian tubes before fertilizing an egg. And dates according to scans can be out by a few days. With only 8 days between the two possible fathers, and a strong likelihood for one and a certainty that the other ejaculated inside you, you need a DNA test to be sure.

My 8 week scan my doctor sent me because I had pains. I was unsure if I was keeping the baby so I didn’t tell the midwife straight away so I when I decided to tell her my 12 weeks scan was booked late hence why I was 13 weeks on 29th if you get me? ( I’m useless at wording stuff )

But, it’s also entirely possible you ovulated a couple of days earlier than your personal 31 day norm and since sperm can live for a while it’s also totally possible that 3rd August guy could be the dad.

i told my midwife I was pregnant around 9 weeks so when she booked my 12 week scan I was actually 13 cos I was late booking it. If that makes sense and today I’m 22 weeks

All I mean is that the dates given at a 12 week scan are usually the ones kept for legal stuff like maternity leave and for calculating risks for early/late births, because it’s easier for the sonographer to accurately date a pregnancy at that point.

The dates calculated when you were 13 weeks are probably the ones your midwives will use for your official due date

It does make sense but regardless OP, if you plan to tell either guy then i think you really need to inform both of them that it is a possibility. You really cant rely on these dates to be your burden of proof and choose 1 over the other. You are going to need a DNA test.

Where do these calculations come from? How do you know you ovulated on the 14th?

I believe there are DNA tests you can do now while pregnant (with a blood sample from you - bits of your babies cells end up in your blood during pregnancy and it’s enough for today’s tech to do a paternity test.)

So the 9th til the 15th is a good estimate of when your fertile week probably was in August. But it’s only an estimation.

So do it? I might be more expensive to do a test now rather than waiting til the baby is born, but all three of you might prefer to know for sure now rather than wait another 16-20 weeks?
