Currently 32 weeks pregnant, curious when others stopped driving

I passed my test at 38 weeks pregnant!!

I never stopped driving. My friend didn't drive throughout her whole third trimester claiming insurance doesn't cover that stage of pregnancy...

I never stopped driving, had the baby then carried on driving as usual afterwards.

2nd was a c section so again drove up to the birth (literally) then didn't drive for 6 weeks whilst the incision healed

I don't know anyone who stopped driving. Well, apart people who had a caesarean afterwards.

If you have a second child you are probably going to be doing completely normal things right before the birth. I went to Tumble Tots the day after I gave birth but I don't necessarily recommend it.

Never stopped in any pregnancy my 3rd I had to drop one to school and twins to playschool.

Mynewnameis · 21/12/2024 13:31

Umm I didn't. I had a c section and recovery was going well so drove soon after. It's a myth that insurance has a expectation of 6 weeks. My body was happy driving compared to pushing a pram plus toddler on buggy board.

I didn't

Wyewaving · 21/12/2024 13:33

In my last pregnancy I stopped at about 32/33 weeks due to awful PGP.

I’m 40 weeks on Monday and I’m still driving. No PGP issues this time thankfully. As long as you feel well and competent I don’t see that there is reason to stop.

Blimey, I didn't know we had to! I drove myself to the hospital for my induction.

My lovely MIL drove herself to hospital in labour Blush

I drove throughout until my section this week but definitely felt more uncomfortable in the latter weeks. My little girl had nursery so no choice but to drive though. Hoping to be driving before the 6 weeks for that same reason but unsure if that's realistic or not as I've not had a section before.

BlueFlagPinkFlag · 21/12/2024 13:40

I drove myself to my planned c section with my second and drove about 4 hours prior to my contractions with my first. You don’t have to stop driving 😀

I drove myself into the hospital. DH picked up the car after the birth.

Just curious. My MIL said I should stop soon but friends have said they didn't stop until just before birth

Have you asked DMIL why she thinks that?

Unfortunately you might be in for quite a bit of unconventional advice for the next few years. One DAunt advised me to "start offering DC1 done if what we were eating". He was 6 weeks old at the time.
