Hi,

We've been using the pull out method now for over a year with no pregnancies. I completely understand this method is silly if you really don't want a baby. We're using this method with "if it happens it happens & we'd be happy"

I'm curious to know has any of you actually got pregnant from this? Can you remember if your partner ejaculated in you or was it a complete shock as partner definitely pulled out?

I wouldn't rely on it but anecdotally we used the pull out method for 4 years with no accidents then got pregnant the first month when we did start trying 🤷🏼‍♀️

That's how we had our third - it doesn't work! I was starting early peri I think, was 37... and it was at a really "safe" time of month, or so I thought!!

Are you using it alongside the rhythm method? Eg. Tracking your cycle and knowing when your most fertile days are, and avoiding sex on those days?

If you use both the pull out method and rhythm method together it can work well. My husband and I have used those methods for many years now and the only times we have actually fell pregnant is when we haven't pulled out and also had sex on my fertile days - but we also had the same attitude of "if it happens it happens and we are happy with that"

After I have this baby in a few weeks, we have both decided it's our last and he's getting the snip 😁

We've been doing it just over 10 years now. Never during ovulation or 2 days before or after.

I used this method 4 times. Worked every time. Like OP if it happened it happened and we'd just have a smaller gap between DC but it worked perfectly ..... for us.

It worked for me. However, a baby would have been welcomed and I wasn't against it. It wouldn't be worth the risk if a pregnancy would have been a nightmare.

The pull out method is not a method, OP.

It's just having unprotected sex.

I used this method for 10 years without any slip ups. Got pregnant within 3 months of trying.

We used this method for years and only had planned pregnancies.

I got pregnant using contraception in the correct way 🙄🙈

Some folk are definitely more fertile than others.

Used this 'method' for 5 years and didn't fall pregnant.

Tried first cycle and conceived, miscarried. Tried again and conceived our son.

Used the same method for the last 2 years again no pregnancies.

However, forgot where I was in my cycle approximately 8 months ago and am due on 1st Feb 🤣

Same. Used reliably for 10 years.

Thought baby no 1 was a fluke as we got pregnant first month of not withdrawing.

Same happened with babe 2 first cycle.

So it does seem to work for us somehow. But we wouldn’t have been upset if it failed. After this pregnancy there’s no way I am doing this again so we might need to look at a better method.

I have three children - we used the pullout method.

@Craftymam Same. The method did work for us! The first time he didn’t pull out I got pregnant right away (planned) it was such a shock as it was just once!! That pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. We used the method again for a few months before trying again for baby, fell pregnant right away once he didn’t pull out. Now I’m 30 weeks with twins! After this pregnancy I for sure will be using a different method! 😂

For those who use the withdrawal method - is it really satisfying for both partners to have to pull out just when it's getting really interesting?

It’s worked for me for years.

Third baby happened this way. He came in me but I ovulated early 😬 I do think it was fate but yeah.. be careful!

I've been ok on it. But I'm 50, only interested in guys over 50 too and not during ovulation.

Used this method for years. Never had any pregnancy scares.

Every time I've tried to get pregnant, it's happened first/second time.

Twice- they are 16 months appart.

Used this for 17 years. The twice we didn't (planned)...worked as intended!
