I've seen a few messages about alcohol free beer. I've been drinking them but only the ones that are 0.0%. I pretty sure Becksblue is and Heineken 0% is completely 0%. Just double check the back of the bottle where it should say the exact amount x

I've had 2 0.5% lucky saint alcohol free beers yesterday, hoping it's not done anything 😫

Has anybody had any lower back ache and, what I suppose feel like, very mild period pains? They're so infrequent and with no intensity to them, on and off for a few days now. Baby moving absolutely fine so no concerns, just wondering if this could mean the time may come soon? Trying not to be too hopeful about it, but, as my first was induced, I've no idea what it feels like for labour to start naturally.

Could they be Braxton Hicks contractions? They are to prepare your body for the real thing!

Mamma3456 · 19/01/2025 21:42

I've had the same kind of infrequent random cramps. I have a planned C-section though so I'm hoping labour does not start!

Maybe, I honestly have no idea what to expect or what Braxton hicks feel like.
When my first was induced I hadn't experienced any of this.

I would love it to happen tbh so I just don't want to get my hopes up and think labour is coming if I've still got weeks to go. How far along are you?

I've had this on and off for a while, tends to be worse if I've been active so putting it down to doing too much!

Catlover1812 · 19/01/2025 22:18

I had these from about 38 weeks with my second pregnancy. Lasted for two weeks and it turned out it was super early labour, and I'd been slowly dilating over those two weeks (a sweep confirmed this.) When it came to actual labour it was really quick, which was great. I'm 37+2 with baby 3 and really hoping the same happens this time! They could be Braxton Hicks but they don't feel like period pains to me. So easy to question everything at this stage!

I thought this at first too, but they've just come on again the past hour or so and I haven't really done much today as I've been so exhausted! I have still had normal mum stuff to do around the house though, so maybe even that's too much atm. I really just want to be able to relax now until the birth, everything is so tiring now at this stage!

Exactly, I'm just questioning everything and trying to tell myself not to be silly, then reminding myself it's not really silly at this stage as it could well happen at any time! I have a hospital appointment tomorrow, I wonder if they'll check if I'm dilating if I ask? I don't know if they do that?

Catlover1812 · 19/01/2025 22:30

I'm exactly the same! This is the time we are allowed to question everything. We've come this far. It's definitely worth asking them to check. I was under consultant care and apparently they can offer sweeps before 40 weeks in that situation, hence why I had two. But it was good info! Keep us updated!

Very true!
I'll definitely ask then and will update if they do! 🤞🏼

How are you other second time mums doing?
I had a bit of a wobble this morning and feel like I’m ruining my daughters life, and don’t want anything to change for her.

I rationally know she’ll be an amazing big sister, and having siblings myself was something I really cherished whilst growing up (and now!) but I can’t help but feel so guilty for poor DD!

Same here- just 5yrs and I know they’ll be the best big sibling but I know it’s going to have an impact on how much time we as parents have and I feel super guilty about that

jaybeez · 20/01/2025 05:37

@Lunalovegod I've also had similar period type pains, and was also induced with my first and never had anything like this. It's not waves of pain (like a contraction or Braxton hicks), more like a constant dull ache in the background that lasts about an hour or so. I've got a midwife appt today so going to ask her if she has any thoughts.

OnePinkSloth · 20/01/2025 07:53

Well, here I am in hospital and have already started the induction process!
Came in late last night due to a spike in BP, things point to developing pre-eclampsia so doc said we might as well start now seeing as you're here!!

So that was an unexpected way to end a weekend!

Hopefully not long till we meet little one🥰

herewegoagain123456 · 20/01/2025 07:59

My Braxton hicks have slowed down weirdly the closer I get to due date.
Although the odd on I get now is more intense and more period crampy style than just the tummy tightening.
Hoping this is a good sign.
Got a birthing ball over the weekend so will sit in that in the evenings now in hope I don't go overdue

QuantumPanic · 20/01/2025 09:21

Best of luck @OnePinkSloth !!

Kumquat89 · 20/01/2025 09:28

@herewegoagain123456 same with me for Braxton Hicks. There are weirdly less of them than before. 🤷🏻‍♀️

superj21 · 20/01/2025 09:45

Good luck @OnePinkSloth! Hoping all goes smoothly for you ❤️

elb1504 · 20/01/2025 10:13

Good luck @OnePinkSloth ❤️

@herewegoagain123456 Also seem to have had a reduction in Braxton hicks!

Super good luck with the labour @OnePinkSloth!!

@OnePinkSloth@OnePinkSloth hope everything goes well.

Sorry to be tagged so many times, my phone does funny things sometimes with tagged people's names and I cannot wipe the name afterwards (if I try it duplicates it.... As you can see. 😅)

Hhdxx · 20/01/2025 15:21

@apple67cherry I wouldn't worry! Some people drink throughout the pregnancy. However, I can understand your worry as I worry about every tiny tiny thing. I'm still worrying about a few mouthfuls of undercooked salmon that I ate over two weeks ago 😳

@Lunalovegod I've also been getting these! I'm currently 34 weeks +2 xx
