OP, what do you think a midwife’s job is out of interest?

Regular anal sex is not a substitute for contraception ffs. Do they actually teach anything in schools these days?

if you don’t want to be pregnant use contraception. There’s no such thing as being unable to use every single form. If your “D”H doesn’t like condoms he’d better be prepared to either abstain or be a father to multiple children. You’ve got a lifetime of faecal incontinence to look forward to.

Again i was tested as to why im reacting to contraception by my doctor and cant have them anymore as it affects my body badly to point im reall ill nd in hospital. Also i dont need the backlash from comments like these it was a general question if it could be a possiblity this is meant to be a mumsnet that could help each other mums out for questions like these and others but doesnt seem that way so im gunna take my leave because some of these comments from people shouldnt be on this site if they dont want to help a fellow mum out......

No contraception at all?
I would see a specialist not a GP.

But if you are both only having sex with each other there’s nowhere to “catch” anything.

Sara1988 · 06/10/2024 10:38

I wonder if the judgemental people in here would tell a gay man he's 'gross' for the way he has sex too.

QueenCamilla · 06/10/2024 10:39

At bad behaviour my mum used to say : I'll put you back where you came from.
Just sayin'...

There are lots of different sorts of contraceptives. It's often the case that some aren't suitable but others are. BTW if anyone posts on here you will get differing responses. No one can say if you are pregnant, not doctors or midwives without actually seeing you. The same way other health issues can't be diagnosed without seeing the person physically.
And anal sex can cause lots of issues, which is why you are getting the responses here. If a partner won't use a condom many women wonder how much he bothers about the female.

JJM13 · 06/10/2024 10:45

why do you need a midwife to take a pregnancy test , do you not realise that is not their job ?

But if you are only having sex with your husband, do you suspect he is cheating on you, or are you cheating on him? Otherwise I don't understand what you are being "safe" from? If neither of you are being unfaithful, why would you have anything you need testing for?

I mean the gross thing about this for me isn’t anal sex, it’s the fact ANYTHING that has been in that entrance is leaking into the other entrance enough so that OP thinks she could be pregnant. There is a risk of infection!

Wow i asked my doctor should i get tested when i have anal with my husband nd both just get tested even if its just us doing it they said yes just so you know everything is ok in both bodies etc .x

What about a diaphragm?
I don't think this forum would necessarily attract people who are what you call ' shemales'. And personally if anyone asked me about anal sex I would point out the dangers of doing it. Because it can be detrimental to health.
The anus is not intended for that purpose.

That's not my takeaway from this thread. I think it's the way it's in so much unnecessary detail. Someone who has already been pregnant and had a baby can't be so naive, surely. Also, anal sex for women has been normalised recently and each to their own, but it's not a substitute for vaginal sex. Where's the pleasure aspect for a woman? And that's without going into the potential health risks.

I will take a test i did do 1 before my period happen that was negative but could been to early so will do another but can never trust them as this would be 2n pregnancy as i had twins first time nd test was wrong i was further along and took 5 test to confirm lol x

I don't really understand what you're saying here, but the best thing is to get those reputable tests and you should get an answer.

There's a risk of infection with any kind of sex. Your vagina and anus are very close together. Penises aren't completely sterile. Just because it's not for you doesn't mean you should throw judgement at other people. Millions of people have successful and fulfilling anal sex safely. No one is asking you to join them.

Oh I'm not saying the original post is legitimate or there isn't some humour to be found in the detail but if this post is a wind up then it's worked beautifully because it's received so many sanctimonious responses.

Anal sex can be pleasurable and safe for both men and women. People need to educate themselves before casting judgement. Anal sex is a perfectly healthy form of intimacy for lots people.

supersop60 · 06/10/2024 11:08

To answer your question OP - I have no idea at all if you are pregnant.
You could be, if there was sperm in your vagina. I had period type pains in very early pregnancy, and some spotting.
Wait a few days then do a test.

And maybe a tmi warning on future posts like this.

There's nothing unusual about a husband and wife having anal sex if both parties are happy, but I can't understand why you were talking to you doctor about it and why they would advise you to have regular testing? For what?

You’re really trying to tell me you can’t see that there’s a bigger risk of infection when something that has been inside your anus then goes into your vagina than with just vaginal sex? That’s not a case of opinion, it’s literally a fact. A penis isn’t completely sterile of course not, but you wouldn’t have anal sex and then vaginal sex immediately after without cleaning the penis in between because it IS an infection risk. It’s not a “do I agree with this”, it’s a fact. I’ve got absolutely nothing against anal, everybody can have whatever sex they fancy and I’ve never said I haven’t or don’t do anal. But that doesn’t change the fact that if something which has been in the anus then goes into the vagina it is an infection risk, there’s a reason us women are told to wipe front to back!
