A) stop posting ‘potty shots’ aka images of your unborn child’s privates online
B) trust the professionals with actual medical training
C) wait for said child to actually be born before drawing conclusions..

It’s ok to feel disappointed if you have been told you’re having another boy. I’m currently pregnant with baby boy no.3 and I admittedly was in denial for the first couple of weeks. I always went into it wanting a third baby but I know this is my last and it’s ok to give yourself time to grieve that little girl you wanted. This baby will be loved no less than your others.
On a side note, to put your mind at ease, maybe book another scan/ call where you had your scan for ask for clarity on the image. I’m not sure how many weeks you were with this scan but if it was early perhaps wait for 20 week scan too.

Another side note - can people be less judgy on here? This is a forum to be able to speak openly to others for support, so why laugh at others? We should all be respectful and kind to others.

OP, best of luck with your pregnancy x

Globules · 24/09/2024 06:09

Maybe the lad is identifying as a girl in utero?

RosesAndHellebores · 24/09/2024 06:23

Perhaps it's just me but there is a fairly even chance of having a boy or a girl and it can't be pre-determined, at least not reliably. Therefore every pregnancy should be entered with an open mind.

I do accept that if we could visit the past Ann Boleyn would gratefully change places with you.

Things have got awfully mixed up in recent years. We used to be grateful to have a healthy baby and some of us have been in situations where we have suffered catastrophic losses so I would gently suggest op that you have a quiet word with yourself, not least about posting potty shots of your baby's genitals to random on the Internet. It's a bit yuk on a variety of levels.

4 different chinese predictions said girl , ring test said girl , a urine test i did said girl , if you zoom in the first picture it’s all connected it seems and the second picture isn’t clear enough , i know every ultrasound is different but for my previous 3 they were clear as day , and the ultrasound tech didn’t seem sure when she did it she was struggling to get it . Also every potty shot i’ve seen you can normally see the legs or a leg and there’s nothing in the picture

😆😆😆

Overthebow · 24/09/2024 06:52

It like a lot like my boy’s scan, and nothing like my girl’s scan, so I’d go with boy.

Bgfe · 24/09/2024 06:59

If Chinese prediction tests worked why did so many people go though with girl pregnancies in the one child era when they were going to abandon or kill them?
The ring test is nonsense.
Congratulations on your 4th boy. It will be so much fun having four little brothers.

Bringautumnnights · 24/09/2024 07:01

Op I think you're experiencing GD. It's valid and normal I went through the same with my 2nd.

For reassurance, I swayed for a girl, the Chinese gender, ring, urine, sickness, cravings, general feeling and bump shape all indicated girl- my ultrasound was very much boy (like yours). These tests don't work are are just myths, which aren't based in fact.

I would take some time to process the fact you're going to have a 4th boy, you'll be ecstatic once he's here - it just takes time to accept the change in your future than what you expected.

People on here are pretty critical a
Of GD, but it's valid, a form of depression you can't help, and passes.

BlackOrangeFrog · 24/09/2024 07:08

It's definitely a boy.

This is really unkind. Of course it's ok to be a bit disappointed and just because people "go through worse" doesn't invalidate someone's feelings. This is a really shaming thing to say.

IVFmumoftwo · 24/09/2024 07:18

Unfortunately if you were hoping for a girl then after three boys your chances are quite slim. You are far more likely to have another boy. I hope you can learn to love him quite quickly. Four boys you are a very lucky mum.

MelainesLaugh · 24/09/2024 07:21

I think the first scan photo is pretty obvious that it’s a boy

SallyWD · 24/09/2024 07:32

I understand why you want a girl after 3 boys but that looks very much like a boy scan photo. I don't think any of the other tests you did are accurate. This scan photo is pretty clear and it looks nothing like a girl.
I think it's wise to start embracing tye idea of a baby boy.

Trixiefirecracker · 24/09/2024 07:47

Is this for real? A ring test? A Chinese prediction?

Thefaceofboe · 24/09/2024 07:56

It’s a boy for sure! Congratulations

SD1978 · 24/09/2024 08:00

@Mommyto3boys you are completely in denial, however why don't you book in for a private scan to confirm it? I think it's reasonable to want reassurance as the sonographer sounded unsure, but at the same time, being so convinced you must be right with a ring, I assume you really want a girl?

TomatoSandwiches · 24/09/2024 08:01

I have 2 boys and 1 girl, those pictures look like my boys.

IVFmumoftwo · 24/09/2024 08:04

Just looked. Yeah that is a boy.

D) don’t get pregnant if you’re only going to be happy with 1 sex

I hate MN. You guys are so judgmental she hasn't even said that.

This is incorrect. The chance of having a boy or girl is (roughly) 50%, each time.

romdowa · 24/09/2024 08:43

Isn't there a blood test which will tell you the sex? Get that done and stop faffing about with old wives tales.

You’re right to be fair. Only on Mumsnet though! I agree that’s fucked up.
There were definite undertones though that she prefer a girl though, not just that she thinks it is a girl.

For most couples I would agree but not in OP's case.

Well, it's pretty bloody obvious isn't it. She's got 3 boys, she's got an image but she's still going on about ridiculous ring tests etc - absolutely clutching at straws to try to convince herself she has a chance of a girl.

So I'd say D is very accurate. Much more accurate than a Chinese prediction anyway.
