Any positive stories about spotting for a few days? I started spotting last week on and off just a light yellowy brown, it's still there sometimes when wiping, I'm around 7 weeks now and scan next Tuesday. I just can't help but worry xxx

I had spotting with DD - I rushed to hospital the first time in a panic and had a thorough check but all was fine
She will be 19 next month!

Have you ever had to have a colposcopy?
I ask because I had some spotting early on and they said it was the scar tissue becoming irritated where the cervix was stretching and baby was fine.

This makes so much sense! I had this and had some light spotting (brown mostly). Now 21 weeks and doing well.

TW BLOOD PIC - advice!! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/5096733-tw-blood-pic-advice?msgid=-5096733#-5096733
Please check out my positive story thread. I also had bleeding in my current pregnancy and now 14+5 weeks and everything well so far 🥰

Thanks soo much for your replies! :)

I was at the EPU (early pregnancy unit) around nearly 2 weeks ago and the lady performed a vaginally examination due to me having some pains. She took a swab and looked at my cervix, then a few days later is when I noticed the very light brown spotting so maybe I could of been from the examination now I think of it! 🙈
I'm around 7 weeks now. Haven't spotted for 2 days since I wrote this post so fingers crossed xx

Thanks for the positive stories! ❤️ I have my follow up ultrasound this upcoming Tuesday, I'm praying and hoping everything is well 🙏 ❤️

I had a lot of spotting until about 5 months with DC1. With DC2 I had spotting that became a massive gushing bleed which then tapered off over about 48 hours.

Both now super healthy pre teens that have barely had a day of illness since birth.

I was told while not necessarily ‘normal’ it’s very common. Another thing that I found reassuring was that the blood is coming from you, not the baby. Seems obvious now but was helpful at the time when panic overrides reason.

Hi all, I have been spotting for over a week. Very light brown, which is completely normal for me anywhere between 3-7 days on the lead up to my cycle. However this time I physically felt different and my gut told me to take a pregnancy test. To my surprise it was positive 2-3 weeks. My husband will be overjoyed and I planned to tell him on our upcoming anniversary next week. But this morning I awoke to a pain on my left side that I was sleeping on and there was red blood when I wiped. It then turned to brown again and I have no pain. I had a heavy bleed in my pregnancy over 10 years ago with my daughter due to a fibroid. I don’t know if this could be related or whether I am going through something more sinister. I am extremely worried and unsure what to do. Any advice would be so appreciated xx

Yes spotting from 7wks then big bleed at 13wks . Heavy spotting on and off up until 20wks. Probably due to twin pregnancy and lost one very early on which caused intermittent bleeding.
DS will be 20 next month.

Wow, that's amazing. I did have hope for you 🥰 did they find a cause? try not to panic if it does happen again though as mine did come back a few times but as I knew the cause I tried not to panic too much. Easier said than done though. Always best to get checked! X
