TW BLOOD PIC - advice!!

5+4 weeks pregnant today. No cramping whatsoever and still have my sore boobs! Last week at around 3-4 weeks I had pink discharge lasting for about 3-4 days and then on the 5th day it was bright red with tiny clotting. I had HCG tests and doubling as normal, baby doing fine. However yesterday I had some bright red and pink discharge/spotting again when wiping (just to note none of this bleeding has gone on a pad or liner) and then it went away yesterday evening completely but this morning I took another test and it's still very strong, if not stronger than my last one however my bleeding is slightly heavier (still only when wiping).

Has anyone else gone through this throughout first trimester/early weeks and been fine? Success stories please!! I've had a chemical pregnancy before but this feels different to that, I feel fine and last week after the bleed I was fine but the bleeding is throwing me off as it's second time now. Many thanks

Yes, absolutely. I bled from 5th week , and assumed I'd had a miscarriage because it wasn't brown - it was red and clumpy and it felt like a period, although a very light one. I had to wear sanitary towels for two weeks...now got a healthy two year old. Everything crossed for you xx

So lovely to hear, thank you. I have an early scan tomorrow morning however as I'll be 5+5 that won't tell me if it's viable or not. Hopefully my strong positive test is still a good sign? it's not become heavy or anything. Was yours accompanied by cramps? I haven't had any x

Yep had what looked like a period on and off with dd2. No idea why. It can be fine.

Some people bleed throughout OP. Hope all goes ok for you.

I bled a lot from implantation (we weren’t trying, I thought it was a normal period). Nothing after though.

Thanks for your comment, glad everything turned out okay in the end. Did you have many symptoms at the 5/6 week mark? i have sore boobs on and off and a bit more tired but that's about it and coming onto my 6th week soon!

That's great about the scan !! Yes I felt encouraged by taking a strong positive test every so often while I was bleeding. Like you, I didn't have any cramps. I'm now pregnant again and this time they sent me a leaflet about bleeding during pregnancy, and how normal it is...I thought Arghh I wish I had been given this first time around , it would have been so reassuring.

@Boogily yes it's not talked about much - usually only the bad signs of bleeding. I'd love to see this leaflet if you were able to take some pictures and reply on here please or if there's a way to contact you on something else, that would be so helpful. If not no worries 🙂

Of course.. I hope this works , Ive tried to screenshot the relevant pages. I agree it's not talked about enough and you never see it any depiction of pregnancy on TV or film . I'm really glad youre getting an early scan though, I didn't get organized to do that and just had two weeks of torturing myself about what was going on. Gradually I could feel in my body that it was actually going to be ok. I remember eating some green beans and thinking ' well these taste completely weird...that's a good sign ' 😄

I'm honestly so scared to do any normal everyday things such as exercise, sex etc just in case it causes bleeding which is so unhealthy because you can't live your life like that but it's just difficult! do you mind me asking what your symptoms were in the early days 5 weeksish?
I've heard of subchorionic hematomas and seen it's a common cause for early bleeding, never heard of them at such an early stage im in though but maybe that could be what's making it stop and start. We will see tomorrow 🙂

Yes this conversation has brought it all back , I was incredibly hungry especially in the mornings - it was a specific feeling at work where I felt like I was going to faint with hunger but then as soon as I'd had one little nibble of something I felt ok again as it settled my stomach. And I was nauseous without being sick. Also felt really grumpy 🤣 but tried not to show it !! What are your symptoms at the moment or are you not feeling any just yet ? X

Yes of course I will! so last week I had on and off nausea but nothing this week. Only very sore boobs on and off and a bit more tired in the day than usual but that's about it 🥹 hopefully that's normal for 5+4

How could I forget. My DP is constantly mentioning my mood swings..so frustrated and upset easily🤣🤣

Good luck for tomorrow. I think not having sex for a few days whilst actively bleeding is a sensible option so you don’t look back and think what if, it’s only for a few days/weeks so that’s completely ok if you don’t feel like it at this point or any stage in your pregnancy.

Still have pink spotting however still a very strong test!

@Boogily update! 5+5 and saw gestational and yolk sac! Everything's measuring good so far but the bleed is a cervical bleed that's very low down so she said it's not damaging baby and it could well be implantation taking a while so I should expect to still bleed for a little while unless it's heavy or painful. Next scan next Saturday to see heartbeat!

Thank you, I will give another update this Saturday when I'm 6+5 as have another scan to see if we can see fetal pole and heartbeat! Currently 6+1 and only symptoms are sooo tired and sore boobs on and off!

6+5 update little fetal pole and flicker of heartbeat and they're measuring 5.2mm 🥰 very happy. The bleed is still there even though no sporting this week but said massive distance from baby so won't be a problem 😊

Update at 8+5 with strong heartbeat 😊 the bleed has now absorbed itself!
