Hi All, I'm 7-weeks pregnant with my second but there's a 7 year gap since I had my DS and so I feel like it's all new to me again. I had a really nice pregnancy with my DS and didn't have nausea or many symptoms really to be honest. But with this pregnancy I'm struggling 😩 I have nausea and my appetite is awful I feel like I don't want anything but if I do it's something very particular. I'm also feeling a bit low but I don't know if that's because of my appetite and it's making me feel a bit down that I can't enjoy food atm. Just looking for some fellow mummies to be that might be in the same boat or who have come out the other side and feel better now!

So glad I found this thread, this is exactly how I'm feeling. Constant nausea and tiredness, and so hard trying to look after DS who is 21 months old. I definitely didn't feel this sick when pregnant with him so it will be interesting to see if the sex plays a part in symptoms!
Ice lollies and travel wrist bands are a good idea I will get both tomorrow! It's really getting me down, so good to know I'm not alone xx

Aww you are defo not alone! I was the same before I posted this I was so low because I thought why do I feel like this. But we are all in similar positions and I’m glad it made you feel a little better seeing this thread.

i know it’s very interesting about the sex thing, I am so intrigued to know what I am having with this pregnancy being so different! Sending hugs xx

Does anyone have any tips for the sick feeling/taste in back of throat? It's driving me mad, I've been eating fizzy sweets and mints but it's not shifting and think that's whats making me feel more nauseous.

I also can't get rid of it and it's horrid isn't it! Definitely makes you feel more sick. Just eating some Mexican rice for lunch though which had actually taken the taste away!

@logzy89 ah thanks for your reply, it's tough going and definitely nice to know you're not alone x

Yes me too. I've just been for my booking appointment and the midwife was lovely but my bmi was a bit higher than my last pregnancy... made me feel a bit bad. But right now eating snacks is all that helps the sick feeling

I think ginger is meant to help, I thought some ginger tablets on amazon, try ginger tea too or lemon and ginger x

I’ve been eating a lot too! I was already not at the sight I wanted to be before I got pregnant, not overweight but just not feeling myself. So I’m worried I’m going to be huge but we have to eat what feel like at this stage don’t we!

Don’t feel bad just eat what you can at the moment, and it won’t be like this forever and maybe in a few more weeks you can eat better once it settles down x

Hello, sorry delayed messaged!
Snacks for the bad taste/nausea
Lemon sherberts/hard fruity sweet
Mint gum
Pineapple
Bananas
Satsumas
Salty things, Crisps, rice cakes,Peanuts
I eat lots of toast or bagels.
Ice lollys
Jelly
I can cope with breakfast, but by tea time I'm totally off food and feel god awful. Found a fully tummy on a night though helps with feeling better waking up the next morning.
X

elb1504 · 04/07/2024 21:24

@Hanlew22 I'm exactly the same mornings and breakfast seem to be ok then by evening I'm shattered and nausea's much worse and I don't want to eat anything.

Thanks for all the nice posts, good to know I am not alone. 8 weeks on Sunday and feeling absolutely rotten - utterly exhausted all the time and sick and hungry 🤣 based on previous pregnancies I have about another 6 weeks of this at least before feeling a bit better, by which time I will be so massive I won't be able to sleep. Stomach has popped straight out already.

Blissfulignorance · 05/07/2024 19:14

Could I sneak in?
I'm 4+4 so early days with my 3rd (4th pregnancy)
Last time I had HG so I've got in early with anti sickness today which has made me feel more human.

Last pregnancy the HG kicked in at 6 weeks so I'm trying to enjoy this period where I feel tired and slight nauseous before things get awful.

Redapple21 · 05/07/2024 20:03

I got myself some anti sickness travel bands earlier and I think they are helping! 99p from home bargains. Worth a go!

I’m 8 weeks on Sunday too ☺️ my belly seems to be popping already too but and it’s my second pregnancy! I look about 15 weeks already 🤦🏻‍♀️ well at least we know it doesn’t last the whole pregnancy and should go away soon.

My toddler on a daily basis when I throw up now says ' not again mummmy'
The past 2 weeks I've thrown up on my self whilst driving, threw up in Aldi whilst shopping, I managed to aim in my bag for life that I took for the shopping (other shoppers just stared), on my drive way, side of the road (a man was cutting his grass and again just stared), outside my boys preschool when dropping him off (people asked if I was OK this time and didn't just stare lol)
Hope this makes some of you laugh as I'm slowly getting there with being able to laugh at myself about it now.
My pelvic floor from vomiting so much is totally knackered now also so I'm praying i don't p*ss myself in public too! 😅

Xxx

Oh no that sounds awful for you 😣 makes me feel like I shouldn’t be moaning haha. There’s nothing worse than being sick is there.

haha yes it did make me giggle a bit but sounds horrendous for you! Haha my pelvic floor is awful since I had my first. I actually wet my self a little before because I was desperate and didn’t repose how desperate I was 🫠🫠 so hope that makes you laugh too! Xx

Thanks all
@Hanlew22 that's great you can start to laugh about it. I've done most of those last pregnancy. Not fun at the time. Little less awkward when you're sporting a bump though.

My pelvic floor is doing very well considering, I do wet myself is I sneeze on a full bladder.

Anyone else plagued with insomnia? This is a new symptom for me and I'm not a fan.

Hanlew22 · 06/07/2024 17:14

@Blissfulignorance

Insomnia yes, I had to bad with my first pregnancy also. Then when I do finally get to sleep, I wake up as I need the loo! Also restless legs, can never get comfy!x

Blissfulignorance · 06/07/2024 17:18

Restless legs!! I've got them so bad already! Considering a double amputation
