Just got my BFP this morning! Doesn't feel very real yet tbh. Can't quite believe it. I also have zero symptoms apart from my period being late so I was really surprised to see 2 lines! Anyone else?

Can I join? Got my BFP beginning of this week, can't quite believe it. Will be baby number 1 for me!

retrievermum · 07/06/2024 13:44

@Moll98 youngest has just turned one! Not sure if I’m mad, going for 2 under 2!

Moll98 · 08/06/2024 08:40

@susie1984234 baby number 1 is very exciting!

@retrievermum ah, I'm sure it'll be chaos but fine haha. There will be just over 2 and half years between mine.

@Xxfifixx89 ah bet you're older ones will excited! Don't think mine will really understand what's going on

Hey! Also due on feb 🥰

this will be our second baby, our first will be about 2 and a half when this one arrives xx

susie1984234 · 08/06/2024 12:14

Congrats! I've been flying high all week but today the anxiety is setting in. I've decided no more testing. I had pregnancy confirmed with a blood test on Tuesday, scan at the end of June. Found myself getting a bit obsessed with other peoples line progressions and comparing them to my own which I think is not good :/

Moll98 · 08/06/2024 13:38

@Peanutbutterjelly123 same! My first will be 2yr 7 months when this one is born.

I think this bit - where you find out you're pregnant but are just waiting for something to happen - eg booking in appointment/12 week scan drags so much.

retrievermum · 08/06/2024 13:57

@susie1984234 definitely try not to test now! You know you’re pregnant, and you just need to try and take it day by day (you’re pregnant until proven otherwise!). Easier said than done, I know. With my first I was so anxious and tested multiple times a day, every day, which looking back was a waste of time and money! There’s nothing you can do one way or another at this point, so try and just enjoy having your little secret (or telling your exciting news!) for now. Sending so much love!

Peanutbutterjelly123 · 08/06/2024 15:05

@Moll98 definitely!

I actually have my booking apt next week and a private scan the week after so I’m hoping it will all be more real when I’ve had those 🤞

Moll98 · 09/06/2024 18:27

I'm terrible for testing loads. But we tried for ages for our first and I saw so many negative tests the novelty of seeing a positive still hasn't worn off. And we're definitely stopping at 2, so I'm going to try to enjoy this pregnancy so I don't begrudge myself the odd extra test here and there. Probably sounds a bit mad, but there you go.

@Peanutbutterjelly123 oooh exciting. I think it is definitely more real following booking in and having a scan. I had a private scan at about 10 weeks with my first. But I'll be over 11 weeks this time by the time both DH and I have a day off together and have someone to have our toddler it hardly seems worth it and I may as well wait for the 12 week one.

Thank you! I think sometimes it just takes someone else to talk you to stop being crazy!
I just really want to enjoy my pregnancy, it's my first and probably only as I'm 40
in September.
Been feeling really good but randomly quite moody today ( poor DH)
Sending lots of love ❤️

MummySophP · 09/06/2024 19:31

Congratulations to you all!

Hope you don’t mind if I join? Got my digital CB 1-2 weeks today. DH and I have been trying for our first for nearly a year and I’m really late with AF so have a doctors appt booked for tomorrow - booked it whilst we were getting so many negatives and will be 60 days since last AF so thought something was wrong then suddenly on Friday started with positives and I’m guilty for over testing too! Trying to be excited and rational at the same time but not really succeeding so hoping having people on the same journey here will help!

Anyone else due Feb 25 yet?
USaYwHatNow · 09/06/2024 19:45

Me. Sadly initially not positive news when we found out on Friday, however have come round to the idea. Only because it's a bit earlier than we hoped and there was health stuff I wanted to get sorted first and we're living in a renovation project, but I'm also aware how incredibly lucky I was to fall pregnant with my now nearly 2 year old first try and falling pregnant this time completely out the blue. I say out the blue, but I'm a Midwife FFS so I should know better 😂😂. I think I'm about 5ish weeks but I have PCOS. Genuinely just thought it was a long cycle until I spat out my favourite sandwich and thought ...oh shit 😂

USaYwHatNow · 09/06/2024 19:46

Oh and just to add, I didn't start feeling nauseous with my son until 7+2. Remember feeling so smug til that fateful morning I rolled over in bed and just about made it to the bathroom to vom. Started feeling sicky this morning so it's either a girl or knowing our luck, twins 😭😭😂😂

SB97xx · 10/06/2024 10:34

Hi hoping it’s ok if I join. Found out yesterday I’m pregnant unexpectedly and I’m 5 weeks today. First baby and very scared but excited! Congrats to you all x

Liv6583 · 10/06/2024 13:22

Hey! Thought I'd jump on, I got my positive today on clear blue. It says 1-2 weeks but my last period was 14th May so is that right? Also when do I need to contact my gp etc, Google says different things. (This is my first)

Anyone else due Feb 25 yet?
retrievermum · 10/06/2024 14:24

@Liv6583 congratulations! That seems about right, do you know when you ovulated? The clear blue tests show how long since conception, so basically you add two weeks to whatever it says and that’s how a doctor would date you (so 1-2 weeks means 3-4 weeks pregnant).

With my first, I had to contact my GP and I rang when I was about 6 weeks! Had a brief appointment where the GP basically said “lovely, I’ll refer you to the midwife” and that was it, then the midwife got in touch when I was 8 weeks to book in my booking appointment which was at about 10 weeks.

This time I self referred to the midwife and she got in touch straight away and I’m booked in for this week (when I’ll be 6 weeks), but that’s because my period dates don’t line up to when I ovulated so she thinks I’m further along than I know I am!

How are you feeling?

Moll98 · 10/06/2024 18:44

Hi to everyone who has joined, and congratulations!

I self referred to the midwives for both of mine. I hung on a bit for my first and then I was chasing them up at 12 weeks and only had my first scan at 13+6. So I've been a bit more proactive this time and referred myself, got my booking in appointment for when I'm 8+2.

I'm feeling a bit sick off and on but nothing too terrible yet. I'm finding sour sweets are helping. My friend thinks this means I'm having a girl, because apparently you crave sweet things with girls??

OP posts:
Liv6583 · 10/06/2024 19:50

Ah ok! I think it was around the 28th May. OK so maybe wait a couple more weeks then? The 8 week scan isn't on the NHS is it? Is that something I would need to pay for separately if I wanted a scan before 12 weeks (this is all so new to me!)

Oh really! I've just had a look online at the self referral form. I actually feel fine which I don't know is a good thing or not at this stage? :/

SB97xx · 11/06/2024 18:15

Just wondering what everyone’s symptoms are so far? I’ve had cramping today and some sharp niggles but they only last for like 1 second i need to stay off google lol. I keep going to the toilet to check 🙈
