Hi all.
I am currently 5 +2 days if I’m still pregnant as i suddenly don’t have my symptoms anymore(fatigue and increased cm). At 5+1 day I had egg white cm and very light brown which wasn’t my cm since this pregnancy and I know egg white is ovulation mucus and since the egg white mucus my cm has decreased. Also the area near my groin is a bit swollen and mild pain at that site. Anyone know what it could be, I’m scared it’s a miscarriage as had history of recurrent miscarriages.

Hi, I think you commented on my old thread. I'm now 9 weeks and 3 days and I've had 2 scans and things seem to be fine. My symptoms nearly really returned since 5 weeks and I don't think I'll relax about it until I see a healthy baby but so far so good. In relation the the CM, it comes and goes so I wouldn't worry too much, I'm afraid I don't know much about groin pain. Hope all goes well

Toddlermum2024 · 25/05/2024 17:29

*my symptoms didn't really return!

Did you have a stretchy ewcm at any point? Ever since I had ewcm my discharge reduced and symptoms suddenly vanished

Toddlermum2024 · 25/05/2024 20:36

Sorry what is ewcm?

Cariadxx · 26/05/2024 18:18

@YOB2 I'm in exactly the same boat. Currently 6+3 and the last week have felt completely normal. At 4-5 weeks I was totally wiped and off my food although not sick and that is just all gone.
I had a mmc in March last year where I had morning sickness which disappeared around this exact time so I'm totally freaking out. I'm under the recurrent mc clinic in the hospital, if this one is gone it'll be 6 in a row 😔. They only scan on a Monday in clinic so I'm getting a private scan on Tuesday because the bank Holiday tomorrow means I won't be scanned for another week otherwise.

Hi, what are the signs around a mmc? Did you try to do a pt at home if it’s fading or not?

OP posts:
spannered · 26/05/2024 18:55

Ectopic pregnancy is rare but looking back on it, my first symptom was a small about of brown discharge around that time. It lasted a day or too (only seen when wiping) then stopped until I was 7 and a half weeks when it started up again alongside one sided pain. I went to the EPU and it was found.

I am NOT saying this to scare you! Lightish brown discharge can also be very normal. But as you've mentioned it alongside some pain I wanted to just draw it to your attention, to keep an eye out for the symptoms.

In terms of losing symptoms, with my healthy pregnancy I had a lot of fluctuations where some days my symptoms felt like they'd disappeared, only to reappear like a tonne of bricks! So I wouldn't worry too much about that. Hope it all goes well for you! X

The whole point about a mmc is that you miss it, and there's no bleeding until later on down the line. They're may be some clues such as pregnancy symptoms disappearing, but you're hcg doesn't always drop that quickly because the thing is that your body doesn't realise the baby has died so doesn't treat it as a mc

Thanks for this. However is a swollen and mildly painful groin a symptoms of ectopic to look out for? I’ve checked online and couldn’t find anything like that. Did you cramp with the brownish discharge? And was your pt gradually fading if you did one?

Did your cm reduce as well? And I had an ewcm before my cm decreased but it’s gradually coming back

Also, I’ve had a mmc before but three days after constant brownish discharge I started bleeding, only thing is I didn’t do pt then

Hi @YOB2 , it was more creamy white CM than EW I think... it disappeared for while at some stage for good week or maybe more, but it comes back now every few days or so...

This is exactly me, my symptoms disappeared the day I got ew after getting loads of creamy cm. Did you notice any brownish at all during the time between getting ew and your cm coming back?

No @YOB2 , I got no brown discharge... but I don't think thats a major concern, especially if there was no red blood

spannered · 26/05/2024 20:27

With my ectopic I would say I had a swollen groin, the pain was more like a pinching on one side and would be more obvious if I lifted my leg up, like when I was standing up and balancing to put a sock on (writing that out sounds so bizarre, why don't I sit down to put socks on?! 😂). It wasn't until 7 and a half weeks that the cramping started really and it was similar to ovulation cramps if you've ever experienced that.

If you're worried your EPU will probably see you for an internal scan from 6 weeks but you might need a referral from your GP x

Hi,
with my left swollen groin, I could feel something inside the down side and if I sit over the left or lay over it, I feel a mild pain at the groin site. Did you have brownish discharge as well before you realised it was ectopic? As I’ve been having brownish and my symptoms suddenly disappeared. I’ve had 2 mc, one was missed, so really scared.

Also was your pt at that point still very dark lines?

OP posts:

I experienced some brown discharge for about two days around 5w but it was very light and only on the tissue after wiping, not enough to go onto a pad. It went away and then started up again around 7+2 and was a darker brown.

Because it was my first pregnancy I didn't know about testing for progression etc. I got a pretty obvious positive at 11DPO and then didn't test again until the brown started again at 7+2. The test was still obviously positive but wasn't a dye stealer. I didn't know at the time that tests got darker, I just thought if it's positive it's fine. It wasn't until the cramping started that I contacted my GP and they got me in with the EPU that day. By that time (7+4) it hurt to walk due to the one sided pain. The pain was quite severe x

Hi. Did your symptoms suddenly disappeared as well around 5 wks? And was your pt test as dark as the first you did.
I’m trying to see my odds of having ectopic so I know what to do. Especially since bank holiday, i couldn’t do much, just nervous and at same time trying not to worry too much as I’ve had history of mcs

OP posts:

Now I’m confused what going on with me and getting anxious, my symptoms has definitely disappeared suddenly though feeling a bit nauseous( wasn’t feeling this before) and the on and off brownish discharge. My pt is darker this morning than yesterday’s. I rang epu said it sounds normal and even if I’m insisting it’s not I need a referral from my gp which means I have to wait till tomorrow because it’s bank holiday today. Somebody give me insight of what’s going on or experience that’s same as mine, I’m getting so nervous dues to my history of mcs.

Did you have any cramps at all, how lower down is ectopic pregnancy cramp felt?

Hi,
how is it going?
Speaking of symptoms, I didn’t get back the former symptoms I had aside my cm is back but not as much as it was and still with light brown discharge but my nipple is really sore now on and off and bit nauseous.

I have a private scan tomorrow. Not expecting anything other than another mmc if I'm honest, I've already given up any hope I had.
My fatigue has gone my boobs have gone back to their normal size. No issues around food. Be a miracle if everything is OK. I did do a PT on Friday as I was worried and it was still very positive, but I've read that this can happen in a mmc as the body doesn't recognise it so carries on. Or it could be it hadn't fallen low enough at that point to be faint.
