I am 6weeks 6 days :) I have my 7 week (private) scan Saturday and co incidentally, my first hospital midwife appointment. No one but my Mum and Partner know so it's a little isolating.

How are you all feeling? I am shattered! I fall asleep every night on the sofa, I am hungry for carbs, like bread and pasta, nausea just started this week - slightly in AM and when hungry. Massing my caffeine and nicotine (I used to use gum).

Soooo hungry all the time. With my first I couldn’t eat because it took 4hours to digest a glass of water so this is strange. I’m super tired as well barely making it past 8pm.

Sliiim · 18/04/2024 12:33

Congrats on your pregnancy!
I’m 9+6 and go for my first private scan on Monday, I’m so nervous haha!

Only myself and my partner know at the moment, waiting til the scan to tell family so they can have a scan photo.
I have been lucky so far with my symptoms, only been tender boobs, hungry(which is now slowing down) mild nausea, constipation(which has been the worst because of bloating), bad taste in mouth and back/top of bum pain.

I can’t wait to tell people, it really is isolating not telling anyone but we wanted to wait until we see baby to make sure everything is okay!

bulletproofcoffee · 18/04/2024 13:46

@MissMadam Same! I am asleep on the sofa around 8pm everyday. Now the afternoons are tough I need a nap at like 2/3pm :/ or I can't finish my work

@Sliiim Good luck for your scan! Exact reason we are not getting ahead of ourselves until scan day :)

I'm just under 5 weeks !

I've got tender boobs, and occasionally my nipples go like bullets. Fatigue and I am more hungry than normal. Also I've had bouts of white intense period like cramps which I've read are normal. I've also noticed I can sometimes feel a little aggy which I'm putting down to hormones going crazy! This is my first pregnancy so all a learning curve!

Twinkletwinklelil · 18/04/2024 22:35

7-8 weeks
feel like hell from 12pm until 2am..
the nausea is crippling 😅 and exhausted!!

my appetite has totally died

so different to my last pregnancy 😅

im currently still breastfeeding and the nipple pain and feeding is 😩😩😩

Aardbeien · 18/04/2024 23:23

Currently in the "please tell me morning sickness ends" phase of very early pregnancy

BatildaB · 19/04/2024 12:49

8 weeks and nauseous constantly for the past two weeks, like a hangover in the morning through to fluey at night. Just upped my dose of promethazine, trying to wfh but not getting much done. I thought morning sickness would be occasional, I didn’t realise it would be so unrelenting 😭

Chocchip09 · 19/04/2024 12:59

I’m currently 11+2 and feeling really sorry for myself! I didn’t have much nausea until now but I’ve got a cold and can’t keep anything down - just constant gagging. Literally surviving off bags of crisps and toast. I didn’t have this level of nausea with my first. Anyway I’ve got my 12 week scan next week and praying everything looks ok! Sending you all love 💐

bulletproofcoffee · 22/04/2024 10:34

Thanks for all your replies! My scan went well, everything looks good :) I am now 7w4D and I feel sick as a dog today, my dinner last night went in the bin and I am struggling to eat any veg, salad etc, going right off fruit now too :/ In good news the exhaustion isnt as bad, or maybe I am getting used to this being my new normal

5 weeks here with baby no. 3 and so far sore nipples and dreaded constipation.
I had terrible morning sickness in my last pregnancy so counting down the days until it graces me with it's presence!

reabies · 22/04/2024 11:55

5 weeks here too, and so far feeling absolutely fine. So different to my previous pregnancy where I felt sick almost immediately upon finding out! I've booked for a private scan at 7+1 in a couple of weeks, and just got my booking in appointment letter this morning for 3 weeks time. Just feels so weird to not have any symptoms so trying not to get in my head about it and hoping the scan will be reassuring in a couple of weeks.

I've told a few people but we haven't told our families yet, hoping to get a reassuring scan pic and tell them over that weekend.

rosemarycait96 · 23/04/2024 13:08

8+3 today (I think), currently on prochlorperazine for 24/7 unending nausea but its still there in the mornings, so I'm really struggling to get up and out each day! Anyone else finding that?

Unless I spend an hour in bed with a cup of peppermint tea and DO NOT SHOWER the morning, I feel awful. Showers, and brushing my teeth first thing make the nausea so bad.

Food, all of it, tastes rank. Yet I am hungry all the time and have managed to gain nearly 3 kilos already 😫

The fatigue is fatiguing, obviously. But my 14mo son makes sure i never get any sleep anyway!

Counting down the weeks till it all feels muuuch better

bulletproofcoffee · 30/04/2024 13:48

@rosemarycait96 wow yes, I cant be bothered with anything I feel sick and dizzy. Funnily enough I also cant shower early or brush my teeth. Feel knackered beyond belief but also awful for sitting down all day.

Food is a nightmare, probably the wrost thing! I dont want anything, feels sick if I dont eat/ get hungry, and then feel sick during and after eating! Also hungry all the time and have gained 2.5 kilo.

Hello! Hope it's okay to join! Congrats everyone, and sending love to those who are really suffering right now! ❤

I'm 5+2, but ovulated a little late, so prob 5+1. I've had a little bit of cramping and discharge, plus slightly tender boobs and terrible flatulence, but I'm using progesterone suppositories, so the boobs and farts could be down to that! Not much else yet. Got my CB 3+ weeks on Saturday, at 20 dpo. I've had a lot of miscarriages before, though, so the lack of symptoms does make me a bit nervous, even though I've been roughly the same with all my pregnancies!

I also got my booking in appointment today. Really hoping to make it that far and beyond!

Hi! I´m at 5w+3d, kinda tired all the day, feel a bit shaky! and I don´t feel hungry at all 😶all I do is to sleep all I can, my sense of smell is heighted, I got sore breasts and (TMI) my lady parts feels a bit bigger. Oh and my hair is ruined, so greasy 😄I try to avoid anxiety distracting myself, bc a previous MC, this is my second pregnancy. I´m 41 yo.

bulletproofcoffee · 02/05/2024 11:15

@deliwoman1 I know everyone is different but I had almost no symptoms. They have ramped up now. I am making a list of things here, hopefully someone else has a laugh at them!

  • Hating the idea of eating , then being ravenous, but not wanting anything.
  • Craving carbs - I didn't really eat much bread, pasta etc before
  • Craving Fast food - again something I didn't like before
  • Getting cravings then immediately after eating it its grossing me out and cant think about eating it again
  • Sickness in the AM now - started at 8/9 weeks
  • High sex drive, having "naughty" dreams EVERY night and waking up
  • Can't be bothered to do anything, like Velcro to the sofa
  • Bloating, to the point I look 6 months pregnant most evenings.
  • Sleepy, ratty and fatigued.

Can't wait for the next 3 weeks to be over and hopefully the next trimester is better!

Ah yes, the general feeling of 'can't be arsed' is so strong right now. I'm now 9.5 weeks and I've got a bit more energy but the food thing is still naff. Spent most of last night eating random things in the hope that something would satisfy the hunger and nausea simultaneously.

Sending strength to all. I definitely don't feel as exhausted though, had a real dip at 8 weeks but feeling able to actually get off the sofa now!

Help sorry i don't know how to start a new thread!

I am 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I have Been suffering with all day morning sickness, just begging for it to stop. I was prescribed Cyclizine, not much relief straight away but I have been taking it for 5 days now. I have woken up this morning feeling a bit sick but it’s my best day and I am feeling pretty normal now. Although I am so happy I feel better I am now concerned. Has anyone else had cyclizine and it taken a little while to work or had bad sickness and the odd day of feeling normal. I haven’t felt like this for 3 weeks?
Any help or stories will be appreciated!

readyforroundthree · 04/05/2024 14:32

@HLW011 sickness can come and go. My last pregnancy I felt rough every single day from 6 weeks up until 10 weeks and then it suddenly stopped and I never had it again. This pregnancy (almost 7 weeks) I am nauseous but it's at random times in the day from 5 mins up to a couple of hours at a time. Some days are worse than others and I think a lot of people go through fluctuating symptoms so I wouldn't worry.

HLW011 · 04/05/2024 14:34

@readyforroundthree thank you for your message and congratulations.
it’s mad I’ve been begging for it to stop and now o feel better I am just so worried.
just scared it’s been unbearable and not suddenly I’m fine. I am wondering if the tablets just took a bit of time to get in my system.

readyforroundthree · 04/05/2024 14:36

@HLW011 it could very well be the tablets but you could wake up tomorrow and feel sick again 🤣 I do feel for you, when I was suffering from all day nausea it was hideous so fingers crossed you won't get much more, if any!

HLW011 · 04/05/2024 14:47

@readyforroundthree thank you, yes I know it is awful! I should be enjoying the days when I feel better!

littlefox90 · 04/05/2024 17:39

Hi everyone, I'm 33 and 5w 4d with my second (although 17 years apart!)
I'm feeling pretty rubbish with anxiety but the sickness hasn't set in yet. Also super tired a lot of the time and waking up really early in the morning.

Congratulations to everyone! I'm sure we can all support each other through the rough bits.

reabies · 07/05/2024 11:17

Hi everyone, checking in again at 8+2 today. Had a scan on Friday and saw the heartbeat, everything was where it was supposed to be so feeling quite relieved.

Symptoms have definitely kicked in now, I feel sick almost all of the time although haven't actually been sick yet. I am exhausted all the time. My belly is already starting to show (it's my second) although could just be because the only time I don't feel sick is when I'm actively eating, so I'm eating all the time.

I'm moving to a new job next week which is fulltime from home so just one more commute into London to get through and then I can relax! Hope everyone else is doing ok!

bulletproofcoffee · 09/05/2024 14:58

Nice to hear from everyone! I am now 10W 3D. Fatigue is much better and the only real issues I have are bacne and still a bit nauseous which is making me fussy with food - I only want naughty things and not healthy veg etc.

Somethings that have helped me eat still relatively decent and get some nutrients in to baby....

1- Prepping overnight oats because morning sickness really puts me off cooking anything...even opening the fridge can make me puke, so I prep them with coconut kefir added fruit and loads of seeds for protein and vitamins like chia and hemp
2- Eating Higher carbs for lunch. Trying not to feel guilty as it really does help! Trying to not just eat the basics but prepping jacket potatoes when the oven is on for dinner and eating them for lunch. Feta is good with it as the salt seems to help and also a great source of calcium. But when I feel really sick a jacket with salt does the job.
3- Packing a few different snacks when going out. I use sandwich bags and take ginger biscuits, oat cakes, and popcorn.
4- I buy a large bottle of ginger juice when doing the weekly shop and then decant into a little shot bottle which I can always fit in my pocket or bag - cheaper too than buying lots of little ones.
