I am 6weeks 6 days :) I have my 7 week (private) scan Saturday and co incidentally, my first hospital midwife appointment. No one but my Mum and Partner know so it's a little isolating.

How are you all feeling? I am shattered! I fall asleep every night on the sofa, I am hungry for carbs, like bread and pasta, nausea just started this week - slightly in AM and when hungry. Massing my caffeine and nicotine (I used to use gum).

Oh and one more thing is keeping B6 foods in me! Apparently it helps nausea - so banana, avocados, pistachios, potatoes with skin on or prebiotic drinks that are fortified are my go to!

Hi all, jumping on at 5w6d - 6 weeks tomorrow 😃

Very few symptoms at the moment, mainly sore breasts/nipples which come and go. Slightly nauseous at times, and very bloated. My DH said my skin looked 'radiant' this morning, so I'll take that as another symptom!!

We have told both sets of parents and have a private scan booked for 8 weeks.

Hi all, hope you are all doing well!
I am 10 weeks now the nausea is just horrible isn’t it! I’ve been prescribed metoclopramode 10mg and prochlorperazine 5mg together. Any one else been prescribed these together? Have the helped?
Thanks in advance. X

9 weeks + 3 today!! I'm generally symptom free - sore boobs, headaches, bloating and hunger through the roof but no sickness whatsoever. I booked my first scan this morning, at 12 weeks, well I'll actually be 13 weeks. Feeling quite anxious about it. Worried about hearing bad news. Praying everything will be ok.

One thing that shocked me though, I asked on the phone in regards to scan photos, quiet a few family members want one so was aware I'd had to pay for additional, but was shocked to hear we don't get any for free, we have to pay for all of them, even for ours. At £5 each..: seems really poor that even the parents don't get a free scan photo?? Is that normal?

readyforroundthree · 21/05/2024 14:51

@Lunamoon23 yes, when I had my son almost 3 years ago they were charging then but when I had my eldest 8 years ago they were free. I think the amount of people they have through the doors each day the printing costs were probably extortionate, but I do agree, £5 per photo is an outrage 🤣

Same here, they weren’t free at my trust. I’d be more surprised if they were free. Although it was only a couple pounds then.

@readyforroundthree @MissMadam I think I was just shocked that even the parents have to pay for their photo. When you consider what people can get on the free from the NHS. You'd at least think a scan photo of your baby would be one, I fully expected to pay for additional though. Just shocked me!

Can I ask those who had or are having a private scan. Did you count your weeks pregnant from the date of your last period? Or your ovulation date? I’m currently 5 weeks according to my last period date but I also know I ovulate late so it’s more like 4 weeks and wondering how this will affect the scan I’ve booked. My scan is in another 4 weeks so should be 9 weeks according to last period. But it will be 7/8 depending on ovulation date. Worried I’ve booked it too early and I won’t see a heartbeat.

From date of your last period - that's how they'll date you at the scan as well!

@WonderingAboutBabies thanks for your reply. That’s reassured me. I think I did have it around the same time last time- just a few weeks before the NhS scan. Last time I felt nauseous every day all day and this time it’s coming in waves and sometimes I don’t feel pregnant at all. So hopefully the scan will give some reassurance. This scan can’t come soon enough! 🙈

Twinkletwinklelil · 05/06/2024 21:24

T4Opal · 05/06/2024 21:42

I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and have my scan on Friday. I can’t wait because I’m then going to finally tell my 5 year old !

Hi

I feel like I'm really suffering with sickness and nausea. I'm dry heaving in the morning as I've not eaten yet then I'm sick after I've eaten. The nausea lasts all day. Im sick 2 or 3 times a day at least. I've lost some weight.
I've tried lavender oil, anti sickness wristbands, ginger tea, boiled sweets ect and none of it helps?

Twinkletwinklelil · 08/06/2024 22:23

@littlefox90 try sniffing hand sanitiser and try to get plenty of sleep

Get on to your GP. There is medication that can help. You don't need to suffer.

littlefox90 · 09/06/2024 17:05

Thank you guys. I'm calling the GP in the morning. I'm suffering with anxiety too so I'm sure the two things are not helping each other
