When did you have your second child, in comparison to first

Currently 38+1 and in pain and fed up 😅 I'm aware I could be waiting another 4 weeks but my son came at 38+2 (after breaking my waters at 38 weeks) so I'm getting super eager now 😬.

What gestation did you have your first child and then second etc was there any pattern?

First was born on his due date (only time in his life he's been on time!).

Second was ten days early.

All my kids were overdue one by 10 days the next 2 weeks

Neither of mine would come out at all! 2 c-sections. But my friend had both of hers bang on their due dates with the second coming flying out in an ambulance. Other friends have tended to have their second babies much around the same time with a faster labour.

My second was induced at 39 weeks so doesn’t count because I didn’t go into labour myself. However the other two I went into labour myself and had my first at 41+6 and third at 38. Generally a four week difference doesn’t seem to be the norm from talking to other women.

Looks like for the most part the second comes similar time or earlier. Hoping that means this little lady will hopefully be on her way very soon!

I was also wondering the same. I'm 37 +2 with my second but first was born at 38 +1, hoping I've not got long left now!

My first was born on time, second was 12 days overdue. It was a long 12 days. 😂

So interesting seeing how different it all is, hoping so badly I'm not going to be in for a later second child birth. My body is so done already and I barely birthed my 38 week 7lber 🤣

Aw, I hope you don’t have too long too wait OP. At least you’re at the stage where you know it could literally be any day now which is exciting. Do you know if you’re having a boy or a girl?

@RIPMullet thank you! I'm having a girl this time, have a very eager 5 year old son waiting on his baby sister lol. I'm very petite and small framed and my partner seems to give me very tall, slightly above average babies that just take over my body 🤣

My friend had her first at 37 then 2 more after the due date so there's no pattern to it, it just is what it is.

Induced at 38 with dc1 and went into spontaneous labour with dc2 at 37+4

DC1 - 42 weeks
DC2 - 37 weeks

I went into labour with both dc exactly on their due dates (no interventions- spontaneous labour)

In the same boat as you, OP!

First was born spontaneously at 38w after waters broke at 37+6.

Currently 38+2 but this baby is breech and section isn't booked until 39+5 due to slot availability with the easter weekend. I was convinced that everything might happen sooner but with every day ticking past, im now not so sure...

I had a boy first and then a girl, also with a 5 year age gap, well just over 5 years. I worried a bit about the gap but it was, and still is great. My son was brilliant with his sister from day 1, totally adored her. They’re 20 and 15 now and have such a lovely bond. I bet your son is so excited, I’m sure he’ll be a very proud big brother.

First DD was 40+2
Second DD was 39 + 2
