Nearly 12 weeks and had a bleed 💔

Went to the toilet earlier and had some bloody discharge. It’s subsided now but I’ve still got brown discharge when wiping.
My body feels like it’s going through a period.
Scan booked for later in the week but don’t know how I will get through the next few days.

I had bleeds at 11 and 12 weeks , couldn’t find a cause for both occasions

hopefully it’s nothing

I know it's hard but I wouldn't worry about this too much.

Is it bright red blood and a lot of it?
It could be old blood, especially if brown.

Have you had sex recently? Could be from an irritated cervix. Lots of women have bleeding throughout pregnancy (myself included) and as worrisome as it is, it isn't always the worst case scenario. Relax. Stressing won't do any good. Monitor it and if it becomes heavier /painful like cramping then get some medical attention.

Book a scan for reassurance maybe?

I had a miscarriage around this time years ago and all the trauma is coming flooding back.

Sorry no advice but I’m 11+5 today and also had a small bleed this morning, so we’re in the same boat. When is your scan? Got everything crossed for you xx

@MrsB2019x I’m sorry you’re going through the same. Have you spoken to the midwife or anyone?
I just keep bursting into tears I can’t get on with anything. I don’t know how I’ll switch off and sleep tonight.
My scan is Thursday, have you got one arranged? X

I had this at 5+1, 5+6 and 6+3. Bright red and cramps then went brown. I had a subchronionic hematoma. I'm 34 weeks now x

I'm just over 11 weeks and have had two bleeds this pregnancy. Have you called your early pregnancy unit? They saw me the same day, within a few hours.

Oh, to add, they were from an irritated cervix. Lots of blood vessels being swollen and sex made it bleed. No harm to baby in the slightest.

How are you now? Did they say they cause of your bleeds?

I had a bleed at 11 weeks, went for an emergency scan expecting the worst and found out I was having twins! Sending best wishes OP, it's not always bad news.

Just rest as much as you can u till the scan. I remember I had this with my first pregnancy, they didn't know why and the baby was fine.

@Kate3150 sorry for your scare. I had spotting at 11+4 and a bleed with a couple of small clots at 13+5. Was absolutely terrified. Had 3 losses last year and seeing blood was a real trigger. Thankfully this time everything was fine. No obvious cause of a bleed. Most likely culprit is my cervix. My bleed happened after constipation and I think (with the benefit of hindsight) maybe straining a bit had set it off. I was absolutely convinced there would be no heartbeat at the scan but there was little one still looking fine. Hopefully will be similar for you. The wait feels interminable doesn't it. My bleed happened on a Friday night and I had to wait until Monday afternoon for the scan. Sending you lots of good wishes 💕

@SnookyPook I’m sorry you’ve had a similar experience, it’s just horrible. How far along are you now?
I don’t feel pregnant, I don’t think that helps, I just feel empty inside.

@Kate3150 just a couple of weeks on from that at 15+1 today but I've felt much calmer since the last scan (after the last bleed at 14wks). Hope you get good news on Thursday and that it puts your mind at ease a bit. 💕

@Kate3150 oh dear it's so hard isn't it. Is it worth ringing your EPU to see if they've had any cancellations so you could sneak in today? Thinking of you. X

@Kate3150 I bled every day from weeks 8-20 I had a subchronic haematoma and I had very heavy bleeds with clots 3 times they were the size of coke cans (sorry to be graphic) the bleeding would go from red to brown and red again etc.

You would never think a baby could survive this but bleeding in pregnancy doesn’t always mean miscarriage. I’m 26 weeks pregnant now.

Same, I’m at work today and I’m really struggling to concentrate. Had a bit more red blood today after it tailing off last night. My scan is Thursday too. I phoned EPU yesterday and they said it’s really common (particularly as mine was triggered by sex) but they said if the bleeding or cramps get worse, I can be referred by my midwife but they have no space until next week 🥴

@MrsB2019x - I’ve had the exact same this morning, some more red blood, it’s tapered off again now but it’s certainly keeping me on my toes all the worry!!
I managed to get a private scan booked for tomorow morning, so hope I make it to then and nothing gets worse 🤞🏻

Bleeding stopped but now just had a bit more red but gone back to brown. It’s all a complete mind f*

If you can just try not to worry too much for now, it’s the scariest thing especially in early pregnancy but honestly my midwife told me that some bleeding in early pregnancy is actually really normal and can be totally harmless a lot of the time. Fingers crossed for you tomorrow x
