Late BFP?

Hi All,

I am just wondering if anyone on here had a really late bfp? Did anyone test negative for ages then eventually get your bfp?

I am CD34 and I have irregular cycles. This is our first month trying and wanted to do it au naturel so didn't use OPKs or check BBT. I'm also taking pregnacare conception which has dried up my CM so I have no idea when/if I ovulated. I have had symptoms but these are easily explained away. I've also had 3 x BFNs. I'm thinking I could have ovulated quite late in my cycle plus I also have a high BMI so think this could be diluting the HCG (if there is any to begin with).

If anyone has any BFP stories it would be great to hear them x x

I have thought about that buy maybe on the next cycle. I do still keep getting the odd cramps but nothing else. No sign of AF either. It's so frustrating 😫

Maybe if you could confirm ovulation then you would know to expect AF? Xx

@TheCakeIsALie18 I think you might be right. I will buy some pdg tests and a bbt monitor and go from there. Fingers crossed we have caught an egg over the past week.

@BeckyPfromLeeds it's worth checking and if you don't want the tests then bbt is the way forward. I bought the premom thermometer on amazon for £8, I think it was.

It's the easiest way to know when O happened. 3 consecutive days of temp rise and it will tell you when it happened. If you get a thermometer then start temping when you get it so that if or when AF shows up you'll know the difference between your post O and your baseline temp without having to through a full cycle.

I don't think I have any symptoms lol. Trying not to symptom spot. But I have had cramping today like a dull heavy feeling but I'm on 4dpo lol. xx

I was at the point of giving up on testing yesterday until I got a high on my LH strip just now (1.06). Arghhh, my first peak. I'm so excited I took your advice and my bbt thermometer is arriving today so will start on that tomorrow (not that it will be much help now). I really just hope my body does what it should do now.

@BeckyPfromLeeds I'm alright thank you. I had a really sharp twinge out if the blue yesterday. Low down on my right side. I've not really been symptom spotting until then but it made me say ow lol.

Oooooh exciting!! That might not be your peak, you might go up for another couple days yet. If that's the case the bbt will help if you test tomorrow and then if your LH goes up for another day and you test bbt you'll see a noticeable increase. I recommend setting an alarm to take bbt if you don't get up the same time every day.

How does CM look at the moment? Eeek I've got it all crossed for you!!! Xx

@TheCakeIsALie18 Ooohhh, that sharp pain sounds positive. It could be implantation.

So I tested again this evening to see if my lh had gone up but its gone back down again. Looks like that was the peak. We BD'd tonight but I am away the next to nights so won't get to bd again until Sunday.

My bbt thermometer arrived today do will use it tomorrow but I won't be able to use it Sat and Sun as I am away in Amsterdam with my sister who doesn't know we're trying. I'm gonna have to be sneaky taking my preconception tablets as it is 😂😂

Well, we will see what happens. I'm nearly in my first TWW, eeekk!!!

@TheCakeIsALie18 Forgot to mention that I am sure I had some EWCM tonight and tmi, OH said I was quite wet tonight. It's all feeling very positive x x

Keep the thermometer under your pillow and take your temp at an early hour like 6am before your sister wakes up. Then ho back to sleep until you're due to get up. It should store the temp for when you next turn it on. Or you could take it to the toilet with you take temp them go back to bed. The beeping isn't very loud at all. Doubt she will notice and taking it the second to get into the bathroom, honestly your temp won't rise in those 30 seconds lol.

There's no such thing as tmi when ttc lol. That's good though that you had some EWCM even better that hubby noticed. I'm usually quite dry during sex unless I have EWCM. So that's great. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Maybe go again first thing in the morning if you can?!

Yes, I will take it with me and try and do it while away. We are on a minicruise to Amsterdam so will be getting up early. Plus if we've had a few drinks on the boat the night before, hopefully she won't wake up too easily 😂

I must admit, I've been symptom spotting for nearly a month as I deffo had some EWCM on 11th Jan. But now I am more confident that I am potentially ovulating, hopefully my mind will be a little more at ease.

Don't think we will be able to bd again in the morning as he is out of the door at 6am!! If it doesn't happen in cycle 1, I'm not going to be too disappointed x x

@BeckyPfromLeeds lol you'll symptom spot more now you know ovulation happened haha. And you may not have managed to get down to it again this morning but it only takes 1 sperm! I fell pregnant our first month trying, sadly lost it after 6 weeks. The had 1 cycle off and conceived my now 10 month old baby boy after 1 try on the first month of TTC. Anything is possible.

I caved and used a shitty cheapie test this morning at 7dpo. Don't know what I was thinking. Obviously it was negative 🤣 just couldn't bloody help myself lol. FRER arriving today so will use one of those tomorrow morning. I'm still cramping today. Xx

@TheCakeIsALie18 No we didn't get to bd again this morning but hopefully one little spermie gets the egg. Must admit that I'm having a bit of cramping which hopefully is ovulation.

With this being our first time ttc and tracking. When do I stop testing LH? I think I will do one more at lunch then stop. I assume you take BBT every day of your cycle?

I'm so sorry about your miscarriage but it was great that you fell on straight away afterwards. I have heard people on here saying you are more fertile after a mc.

@BeckyPfromLeeds Yeah quite possibly ovulation if you're feeling it on one side.

Keep testing LH until you get back down to your baseline whatever that might be. Just in case and yep BBT every day always while TTC lol. After O your temp will rise and it will stay up until day of AF. If AF doesn't show and you do catch then temp will stay up throughout pregnancy. BBT told me I was miscarrying because it dropped and then I started cramping and bleeding. It's alright though. 1 in 3 pregnancies are miscarried unfortunately but I got my rainbow baby ❤️❤️

I'm notnsure what my baseline is as the first few that I did, I took the picture at about 2-3mins and not giving it chance to develop. I only noticed as I actually read the instructions and it says read after 7-10mins. So I took the pic again, uploaded it and it was higher. Either way, I will keep testing but won't be able to do that in the boat. I might be able to get away with my bbt but not that 😂😂

@TheCakeIsALie18 Hey, nope, no update. But my LH seems to be going up again!! I have no idea what's going on. I did read that during peri-menopause LH levels can be raised directly to your body trying to ovulate all the time so could be that. What do you think? I really wish I'd have started with BBT as well as OPKs from the start, it may have been so much easier.

Well I'm 10dpo today BFNs and this morning I started bleeding sadly. It has to be my period even though it's 3 days early. It's way lighter than usual though but still enough to wear my cup. I have an almighty headache and feel sick but don't have my usual period cramps so I'm all confused and disappointed today xx

Oh no, I'm so sorry you got af early. Could it not be heavy implantation bleeding? If not, at least you can move onto your next cycle.

Must admit, I wish my af would turn up so I can start a fresh. I hate this being in limbo 😔😔

It's definitely not heavy implantation. I thought it might have been to start with but it's definitely period flow and colour. The only difference is I don't have any period cramping. I'm just super tired. Start bleeding Monday morning and it's still going now. Quite light. My cup only had about 1-2ml in it when I emptied it about 90 mins ago. Last emptied when I got up this morning.

Will start testing LH from tomorrow to get my baseline. I'm due to ovulate again on my birthday on the 9th lol. Happy birthday to me. Xx

So, I'm 5DPO according to premom. I have had some weird cramps today and I've had some odd feelings in my boobs. We have BD today just in case I didn't ovulate. It would be great if I did and we caught it but if not, onto the next month.

That's a shame that it wasn't IB. Must admit, I've never used a cup before. I'm not a small girl so think it would be quite awkward for me to use. If it is not heavy and not the same as usual, it still could be IB. I have read that although it is normally light, some people have experienced period like bleeding. You never know!!

@BeckyPfromLeeds oooh exciting. Implantation could come any day now for you if you caught it! I know I had cramping when I caught with Charlie around 7dpo. Had my positive with him at 11dpo.

Yeah Im pretty certain it's my period. It's nearly finished now.

I'm not particularly small, I'm top end of size 14. Honestly, if you can, a cup is the best thing I've ever used. I paid a fiver for it t years ago. I would normally use a whole box of tampons every cycle. Saved a ton of money. It's easier to use than you'd think. I sit on the loo with my legs really wide and lean waaaaay forward lol. If you can use a tampon, you can use a cup. Sure you'd be fine 👏🏼

@TheCakeIsALie18 Well, my cats woke me up to be fed at 6.30 so I stupidly decided to test @ 9DPO. Needless to say, it was a BFN 🙃 I know it's still early and with no sign of AF coming, I know I'm not out yet.

I just feel different at the minute. The cramps I'm having don't feel like normal cramps. My boobs feel a bit heavier buy only every now and again. Not the heavy achiness I used to get before af (I stopped getting achy boobs before af a few years ago). I don't know but something deffo feels different. Let's see if I can hold off testing for another few days at least. I'm going to try and hold off until the weekend as that will make me 14/15DPO. Plus, it would be a lovely mothers day present although I know that's getting way ahead of myself 😂😂

How are things with you? Does everything seem to be going OK so far for this cycle x x

@BeckyPfromLeeds haha yeah 9dpo is early lol. My friend got her faint positive at 9dpo last week though. You're definitely not out yet. If you can hold off that would be great. Save pissing money down the toilet, literally 🤣

How long is your luteal phase usually? Mine is normally 13-15 days which is why the 10dpo period threw me off lol.

Yeah all going fine so far. Testing LH again now and expecting that to start rising in a couple days as O is due around next weekend. Xx

@TheCakeIsALie18 Hey, happy Sunday. Yes, I am going to try and hold off until the weekend to test again.

This is my first cycle trying and although I have been tracking my cycles for quite a few years, I have never really paid attention to my LP. Hopefully, if we caught the egg, I should get a positive by the end of the week, just in time for mothers day 🥰
