I live above a Chinese, you can imagine the craving from smelling it and how much I must have ate when I was pregnant haha! My lo was born full term, healthy weight and is now a healthy 1 year old who enjoys a cheeky Chinese too!

Certainly not the type of food that passes for Chinese takeaway in these parts of the world for a start.

MSG is fine.

Everyone is entitled to at least one panic that they’ve done something wrong when they’re pregnant. You don’t know a poster’s medical history and some people are naturally going to be more being concerned about their baby.

I read about bean sprouts in my last pregnancy, also had a wobble !! I had major anxiety throughout my pregnancy and ended up on medication because it got to the point I was barely eating anything due to being worried about contamination, don't be me op!! Enjoy the Chinese

Just stick to the NHS info on what not to eat during pregnancy. There’s a lot of outdated and irrelevant info for the UK on the internet. Also understand why it’s advised against. Most food is fine to eat but advised against due to higher risk of things like listeria.

The OP having eaten a Chinese takeaway whilst pregnant does not have a single thing to do with Chinese women having babies. I cannot see how both are in any way connected or correlated
