Hi guys! New here 👋🏼

yesterday (14DPO) started bleeding, I done a clear blue test yesterday after a few dye tests came back with faint lines, clear blue said 1-2 weeks

14DPO started bleeding, red blood
15DPO still bleeding but it’s gone brown now ?

can anyone shed some light if this is normal? I googled and it said it’s normal to have some spotting at 4 weeks but I can’t tell if it’s spotting or not…

I did have a MC in June at 6 weeks 4 days also & I was in so much pain & this time round I have no pain? So I’m worrying 😔

my last period was on the 11th November and was supposed to start on 11th December

thank you 🤞🏻 xx

I doubt it but they'll be able to take hCG levels.

TheShellBeach · 18/12/2023 18:37

And you're only 4 weeks and 2 days, so there will be very little point in a scan.

Jodss28 · 18/12/2023 18:42

Theshell - doctors said I’m 5 weeks 3 days 😆 I’m so confused 😆

i just done a first response test and can’t see any line on that one 😔

I ovulated on 2nd December … idk what that makes me 😆

This is what I’m dealing with today blood wise 😔

But you were 14dpo two days ago?

Are they going by LMP?

Darling if your test is negative now, and you're bleeding this much, this is (almost certainly) sadly a chemical pregnancy.

TheShellBeach · 18/12/2023 18:55

When was your LMP?

Jodss28 · 18/12/2023 19:06

The shell - yeah I’m 16dpo today

yeah going by LMP, but I track etc so I know my ovulation day which was the 2nd December

test at hospital this morning was a faint positive she said
came home and just done a cheap first response one and it’s negative, can BARELY see a line

my LMP was 11th November

@Jodss28 unfortunately I do think it's sounding like a chemical/very ealrier miscarriage as the tests would be clear positives by now in most cases but you may be wrong on your dates xx

Jodss28 · 18/12/2023 19:12

Champagne - deffo ovulated on 2nd December I got my peak on 30th then ovulated 2nd 😔

Okay so you're just over five weeks by dates but going by your ovulation, you're just over four weeks.

I'm so sorry. If this was viable, you'd have obvious positives on your tests.

It's horrible. It's happened to me lots of times.
I do feel for you.

@Jodss28 I'm really sorry, I don't think this pregnancy will be viable. I've been there to many times it's heartbreaking 💔

Jodss28 · 18/12/2023 19:28

Thank you girls 😔 is there any point me going to my appointment tomorrow then? 😔

my MC one in June - at 16dpo my test looked like this…
but today I’m 16dpo and barely see a line 😔

@Jodss28 that's completely up to you, test again in the morning and if it's fainter again then it's definitely non viable. So sorry x

Jodss28 · 18/12/2023 19:38

Thank you 😔

I think only you can decide whether to go or not. Sorry, that isn't very helpful.

If you'd like to know for sure, they can take your blood.

You might get them to offer progesterone in the next pregnancy if this one is an early miscarriage.

Jodss28 · 18/12/2023 19:47

Just don’t want to waste anyone’s time 😔
gonna do a test in the morning and see and then probably decide 😔
thank you everyone . Really appreciate it 😔

Also, I thought with a miscarriage, tests stay positive for atleast a week or so? Xx

OP posts:
champagneproblems13 · 18/12/2023 19:49

@Jodss28 everyone's different, to me it seems like you started miscarrying when you first started bleeding so that's why they're now gone lighter. Xx

VolvoFan · 18/12/2023 19:54

The miscarriages where the pregnancy tests stay positive are the ones that occur around the 8 week mark or further. Because the placenta and fetal tissue produce hCG, so when the body realises what's happened, it works to expel all the products. I'm sorry if I come across as cold with the way I explain it, it truly is a horrible thing to go through. I've had 4 early losses and I know the misery all too well. Look after yourself and be gentle on yourself xx

If you're further on, yes.

But very early miscarriages don't work like that. You're kind of pregnant very briefly with a non viable baby and the hCG then dissipates very quickly.

Arosebyanyname · 18/12/2023 20:03

Yes sadly I think this one is gone 😢 as above, everyone is different and it will also depend on when the embryo implanted as to how high your HCG levels were and therefore how fast they fall. If they have said to come back they obviously don't think it's a waste of time though - a lot of people I know have just been told to test again in two weeks to check it's negative. So see how you feel in the morning x

Arosebyanyname · 18/12/2023 20:05

Although not true that only losses eight weeks and onwards stay positive - I lost mine at around four weeks (tracked ovulation) and it took seven days to get a negative test

Jodss28 · 18/12/2023 20:35

Yeah was gonna say I lost mine at 6 weeks and mine stayed positive for 7 days 😔

i only saw the GP in a&e bit, had to fill out a self referal form for the EPU, they didn’t say anything else
