How old were you when you had your first baby

Hi all, 26 and just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant. Recently brought a house with my other half, both in stable jobs and been together over 7 years.

Just curious to know how old were you with your first? Did you experience any judgement?

my husband will be 48 when I give birth
I have a fantastic husband, lovely house, amazing established career and money.
I take care of myself yet I’ve already read on MN how I’m selfish at my age

DC1 at 20 and DC2 at 24. I've had a lot of judgement and comments about my age and a lot of mums thinking I'm DCs nanny.

I wouldn't change the age I had them, I feel like I was meant to be a mum

I think whatever age you feel is right for you is the right age and it’s no one else’s business …
society will never be happy with women and their decisions
single mums wrong
young mums wrong
teen mums wrong (even though this is when we’re the most fertile!)
older mums wrong
career mums wrong
stay at home mums wrong

31 when I had my DTs. People judged the size of me, (one arsehole asked if I had a tv when they were about 2) but other than that I only had nice comments. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I was 25. Had a little bit of judgement as I was only with DP a few months (oops) and culturally, we were not married.

I judged myself I felt like I was a 'teen mum' as was so unprepared for what a baby would entail!

Felt more judgement when he started school and all the other parents were a good 7+ years older than me.

38, no judgement but I don't really have any judgemental friends or family. I don't think people really care about that stuff anymore.

26 is quite young nowadays, but I think it's great if that's what you want and you both sound like you're sorted financially which is important. I'm an older mum (my preference), but in hindsight I think it's better to have kids younger if you can. I don't think anyone really judges age as such, more if you have a stable relationship and are financially secure.

I'm 25 due to have my first in March at 26. OH is 30. I've only been with my partner a year and baby was unplanned. But we are very happy, have stable careers but living with his parents at the moment as it's an affluent area of London that we cannot afford to buy at the moment

I will be 30 or 31 when she arrives next month. I’ve told her she can arrive any day but my birthday!!! She’ll probably arrive on my birthday won’t she?

I was 38 for dc2 and had loads of judgement then too!
