Just that really... at what point in your pregnancy did your morning sickness end? I'm really struggling and can't wait for this nausea to end. I have been to gp and I'm on cyclizine. But just wanting to know what it was like for others.

Sorry to hear you’re not doing so well, I had terrible sickness with my youngest and it lasted till I was around 16 weeks. It was 24 hours a day it was so exhausting. I hope your doing better soon x

Cumbrianlife · 28/10/2023 21:38

At birth with all 3DC, all day, every day.

Omgreally11 · 28/10/2023 21:38

@Nervousnell19 thanks for your reply! Oh it's just awful isn't it. My nausea is 24 hours a day as well. Even with medication. If I'm lying down and not moving for 12 hours a day, I don't throw up. But movement and speaking really triggers my nausea. So popping to the kitchen today made me throw up a little. But I'm basically not throwing up at all, but the nausea is constant. And it's so overwhelming.

Oh you poor poor thing. That sounds absolutely awful I'm so sorry.

@BeadedBubbles really manifesting this for myself. I'm 9 weeks and 3 days and it is so so bad. 12 weeks feels almost close haha

Fluffysockswizzard · 28/10/2023 21:43

My sickness eased off around 12 weeks but was still there until around 18 weeks. Now it's only if I don't eat for a long time or if i'm overtired. Hope you start to feel better soon x

BeadedBubbles · 28/10/2023 22:09

Are you eating at all? I found that eating starchy foods (plain biscuits, toast etc) regularly helped damp down my queasiness.

SnowSnow · 28/10/2023 22:11

Eased a good bit around 21 weeks but didn’t go until I gave birth. There are other medications you can try if the cyclizine isn’t working well enough. Hope you feel better soon.

SapphosRock · 28/10/2023 22:14

At birth.

Sorry OP.

Get meds and get signed off work if you're really suffering.

Cluborange666 · 28/10/2023 22:16

Keep eating bland snacks eg toast, muffins, ready brek etc. Mine was horrendous until the middle bit, then it was usually only a vomit first thing in the morning. That continued up until the day they were born. Carbs are definitely the way forward, constant grazing. Also I kept a lemon soap with a very sharp smell and I used to sniff it when the nausea was very bad.

Allsizes8to14 · 28/10/2023 22:24

Full resolution wasn’t until 5days after she was born 🤦🏼‍♀️ BUT it did lessen. I was also on cyclizine and weeks 9-12 were the worst for me, I was off work on the sick as like you said above also couldn’t really move, would lay in bed apart from a few hrs in the middle of the day. By 16wks it was manageable, could eat a little, manage at work again and it wasn’t as all consuming as those early weeks. Hang in there!! Defo consider getting different meds and keep nibbling carby things if you can

Chanhedforthis · 28/10/2023 22:25

It's rare for it to last until birth op.

For me eased at around 15 weeks. Completely gone by 20 weeks.

I tried lots of medication but it didn't work just made me tired.

Handhold op it is awful

FirstMondayInMay · 28/10/2023 22:26

It calmed down about 12 weeks and then was every Saturday morning until 18 weeks, people
probably thought I was hungover🤣

WithTheHatToMatch · 28/10/2023 22:26

18 weeks with DC1, then had proper hyperemesis with DC2 that eased off around 24-26 weeks but never completely went away until I gave birth.

Autumnalvibesofmellowness · 28/10/2023 22:28

14 weeks. It got worse and then disappeared. My worst symptoms were actually really bad diarrhea, migraines and carpel tunnel.

Nonchalant92 · 28/10/2023 22:28

My nausea and vomiting stopped when I reached second trimester. I did have it bad, was on cyclizine as well for both pregnancies, but after the second trimester, it kind of withered down. Was a welcome change. 🙂

UpsyDaisyMegaphone · 28/10/2023 22:33

Cumbrianlife · 28/10/2023 21:38

At birth with all 3DC, all day, every day.

Same.

Cyclizine did nothing for me, but ondanestron helped a bit. Go back to the GP and ask for different meds if you're still suffering, OP. I'm my experience GPs are totally shit with hyperemesis so you need to really push to get them to take it seriously.

S72 · 28/10/2023 22:35

My sickness didn't end until birth. It was an extremely difficult time.

Kendodd · 28/10/2023 22:36

Cumbrianlife · 28/10/2023 21:38

At birth with all 3DC, all day, every day.

Me too.
I used to keep a bowl under my bed and would wake up in the night and vomit into it.

DramaAlpaca · 28/10/2023 22:38

With all three of my babies it started improving around 18 weeks and stopped at 20 weeks. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure.

wtawtaw · 28/10/2023 23:09

I had bad nausea from week 6-14, eased at 14 weeks and went completely around 16 weeks. So many food aversions during that time too, mainly meat and vegetables!

Omgreally11 · 28/10/2023 23:28

Ohhhh thank you all so much for all these comments. I am signed off work and going to get a Dr's note for another week off because I just can't do anything. I'm managing to eat and keep food and water down. So I don't think I have hyperemesis at all. But its just that constant constant nausea. Like an overwhelming feeling of literally being on a the verge of throwing up for the entirety of the day. It just doesn't lessen. So I am literally lying on the sofa for the entire of the day otherwise its constant gagging.

Thanks again for all the reassurance. Hoping this gets better!

im still constantly feeling sick at 37 weeks. Definitely stuck with it till birth but has improved since first trimester. Have not been able to work for whole of pregnancy it’s been so debilitating! Everyone is different though on when it ends but while you’re in the thick of it you have to rest, it’s so so miserable.
Can also be hyperemesis if not vomiting and eating and drinking but it’s affecting your function! Ondansetron has been the best med for me so if no improvement push for that!

elljtah29 · 29/10/2023 11:11

16 weeks both times. Hang on in there xx
