Wasn't sure where to post this.

Have just seen the bloke on our local news who has set up this petition.

here

His wife was showing signs of miscarrying, went to our local A and E on a Friday night, were told to go home and come back to the early pregnancy unit on ....Tuesday Were told that there was no one there who could help them.

Sadly she did lose the baby

Thought we could boost the number of signatures.
Thanks.

It is sometimes true there is not much they can do medically in the early stages, but being able to see the EPU sooner can do a lot for the mother's mental. Not knowing must be awful and frightening.

My bf, who is also on mnet had some awful experiences with the EPU. She miscarried with her first pregnancy and bled a lot with her second. She had to fight to get scanned at all and ended up booking a private one. It's only when she was 12 weeks or so that she could actually accept that she was pg. She had to go through the whole of Christmas not knowing whether or not she was miscarrying again.

I have signed.

I hada molar pregnancy in April 95 and it was onlt picked up by chance as I mentioned to my midwife at the 12wk booking in appointment that I'd had some bleeding at around 8wks (the Doc had told me the usual of just to rest). This involved surgery similar to a D&C.

I had follow-up blood and urine tests for nearly a year.

Lost another pregnancy at 7wks in Dec 95.

When I fell pregnant in early 2003 was monitored early thanks to a kind GP but although a scan at 9wks showed eberything fine, the one at 10wks showed the baby had died. Again I had to undergo surgery a day or so later.

I was under consultant care after that who tested for everything they could as I'd now had the "required" 3 m/cs!! Luckily I fell with DD on Xmas Day 2003 and she was born in Sept 04.

I know what its like being told the bad news and having to wait to speak through the options etc.

When I fell again with DD at Xmas 2003
