I can't imagine they are harmful except being very very sugary! I would not be eating a whole box a day!

MolesOnPoles · 24/12/2022 10:43

Don’t be silly.

Hugasauras · 24/12/2022 10:43

Eh? Confused Grapes? What on earth would be wrong with grapes?

Stick to NHS food advice and don't use anything else.

Juicylychee · 24/12/2022 10:43

Use the nhs website.

Echobelly · 24/12/2022 10:44

Never heard of this in my life, sounds like bollocks. Relax and eat the grapes!

liveforsummer · 24/12/2022 10:44

What was the reasoning in this article? Never heard this before so suspect it's another nonsense thing like many other pregnancy myths

allgoodthings84 · 24/12/2022 10:46

I have never heard that. As long as washed I’m sure they are fine.

probably wouldn’t eat that many though just because can give an upset tummy if eat too many pregnant or not pregnant. When I’m feeling “blocked up” grapes help me go.

CrapBag39 · 24/12/2022 10:49

practically lived off grapes with my pregnancies as it was all I could keep down at times. Crack on with the grape munching I say!

dementedpixie · 24/12/2022 10:51

EAT THE GRAPES!

Go with the nhs advice. Grapes are not on the avoid list.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 24/12/2022 11:07

You will find a website somewhere on the wide web that tells you water, sunlight and breathing air are harmful to pregnancy.

Ignore all but NHS advice. Grapes are fine (wash all fruit and veg)

RambamThankyouMam · 24/12/2022 11:08

What??

Seriously, get a grip. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Are you really asking if anyone has eaten grapes during pregnancy? Yes. Yes, lots of people have. They are a common food.

Lysianthus · 24/12/2022 12:02

Only if you're a Labrador. And you mustn't eat chocolate either.
NHS 111 if you're worried. Online rather than phoning as they're probably busy with emergencies today.
And congratulations !

Lollypop701 · 24/12/2022 12:11

I found that it was only the ‘grapes’ hanging out of my bottom that caused issues in pregnancy 😂

😂

They didn't do any of my pregnancies any harm 🤷‍♀️

🙄 I think I'm going to start a Christmas Eve Mumsnet bingo game.

Op, eat the grapes...you'll be fine and Merry Christmas.

KnittedCardi · 24/12/2022 12:17

Ignore all but NHS advice

To be fair, even NHS advice is a bit OTT, and/or out of date. Just crack on, and don't worry, the worry will do you more harm.

Cuppasoupmonster · 24/12/2022 12:18

Ive been eating red grapes, maybe a punnet a week, and will continue to do so 🤷🏼‍♀️

user58202018484482910ugog19293843910 · 24/12/2022 12:18

Only harmful if you're diabetic and your sugars rise.

Otherwise, eat the grapes.

Blossomandbee · 24/12/2022 12:19

What's the reason you shouldn't eat them?
I craved them in one of my pregnancies and ate loads. No ill effects.

111 is for urgent medical help, not general queries about grapes.

You’ll be fine OP.

A whole packet a night does seem excessive though… hope they’re keeping you regular.

Ursuladevine · 24/12/2022 12:21

No health concerns

but why every night and an entire punnet?? Your teeth and your digestion must be interesting!

Notellinganyone · 24/12/2022 12:23

A lot of the food advice doesn’t have much scientific evidence anyway and varies country by country.

CaramelizedNuts · 24/12/2022 12:51

Grapes are fine but a whole punnet daily surely wouldn't be helpful ! They are really sugary

I come from place of experience of eating a lot of sugar in pregnancy and birthing an 11lb baby off the back of that. No GD.

I give no shits about the health side tbf
