Hi I was going to get fireworks but someone I know is getting fireworks (but i found them first) and I don't want it look like I copied can you guys please tell me some unique gender reveal ideas pls something similar to fireworks but not the same

Bizarre isn’t it. I don’t care for gender reveals but I find all the competitive “not giving a shit” on MN really unpleasant. It’s exactly the same when discussing weddings, hen parties, a handbag that costs over £10 - posters trip over themselves to show why literally no one would give a shit about that poster and to imply that basically all their friends and family dislike them and have no nice opinions about them at all.

It might not be your thing - scroll past and if, gasp, you get invited to one, just politely decline. There really is no need for such a level of school girl bitchiness which these threads always descend in to.

Secondly gender or sex reveal parties/balloons/canons are all awfully obnoxious and try hard and environment killing and couldn't you just have vaginal ping pongs.

Why do people bother to even open read the question never mind reply if they don't like Gender reveals?
Your opinion on whether you liked them or not was not asked for, you was also not asked for your opinion on calling it Gender/ Sex reveal, do you complain on every form and correct people in public? Do you not get bored?

For all you saying it's sex, it's called a Gender reveal and are you going to take that up with the NHS too. My anomaly scan letter advises about the gender of the baby not the sex. My generic screening at 8 weeks also had a box where I had to tick of I wanted to know the Gender of the baby/ different Health board too.

No one cares nearly as much as you in regards to this gender sex reveal.
Just print off some photos and tell people. Whatever genitals your child has, they will be loved either way.

Here's what I did.

I fell pregnant.
They asked if I wanted to know the sex at one of the scans.
I said yes.
Told it was a girl.
Whoever then asked me 'what are you expecting' I replied with girl.

Went down fine.

Also in regards to baby showers, I didn't have one and I specifically instructed my friends NOT to plan one.
I get maybe 2 baby shower invites a year, normally organised on a tacky Facebook group with a 'wish list' (so grabby). I don't want to sit in a circle full of people I don't really want to spend time with sniffing fake poo in a nappy (what a waste) and also 'pinning the dummy on the baby' with a blind fold. Whilst making small talk with the impending babies aunt who's next in line for said pinning. If you're going to this much effort to reveal the SEX of the baby, you're probably going to want an OTT baby shower too.

Have your baby and enjoy your baby.

I do find these reveals a bit weird. You're basically announcing what genitals your child will have. Hey everyone, my child is going to have a penis! Seems like a weird thing to need to tell the world before it's born.

I actually do correct forms if they're paper copies. If they're electronic I tick "other" and no gender but sex is female.
Gender is masculine or feminine, not male or female.
