Hi everyone:

Starting this as a lighthearted thread for us ladies who are pregnant after miscarriage and who know the obsession that surrounds it. I'm not downplaying mc at all I just have to laugh at myself or I'd probably cry...

I have had two miscarriage before, one at the end of November and i found out last week I am pregnant again.

I am 5 weeks today and have never got to that point before without the dreaded spotting starting.

I am producing a lot of cm (sorry for the tmi) and there is definitely a lot of 'hmm I feel wet I had better just check that...'

I wondered if anyone else is going through this right now! I am a mad panty checker!!!

I'm with you!!
I had a missed miscarriage last time - so didn't actually get the spotting.
This time I'm now 9+4 and have to check several times per day..... as also having a lot of 'gushes' shall we say (eeeww!)

But we can totally get through this - positive vibes Thanks

Newbean · 25/01/2022 18:05

@surprised12 good luck with your pregnancy. Thanks

Hahaha. I'm assuming it only gets more with time?

I check when I need the loo obv but I've been doing spontaneous checks too. I have become quite the weirdo 😂

Yep - Mine is quite a lot and frequent now - which I'm just assuming is normal?!?
It's not so bad because I work from home - but back in the office next week and need to not be dashing away for these 'checks' everytime I stand up! Grin

I meant to say, I also wfh, which is great for knicker checking isn't it? Grin

Haha your colleagues will be wondering what is going on! But yes I've heard it is a good sign.

Somewhat relieved I’m not the only one! I’m 16+3 and still panic all the time. I check at least every time I got to toilet and sometimes have to go check without it.
Hoping it’ll get easier when baby starts moving! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hello @Newbean fellow knicker checker extraordinaire over here...it's all a bit tense isn't it! Thanks so much for starting this thread!

I've been getting loads of cramps (some quite painful) and I really can't tell the difference between period cramps and pregnancy cramps. Nearly cried the other morning when I woke up feeling positive that I was miscarrying.

I'm only 4.5 weeks in...I miscarried in June at 6 weeks and it's taken 7 months to get a BFP so I just can't bare the thought of losing this one too...whilst knowing I have no control either way 🥺

Keeping my fingers crossed for us all and these rainbow beans xxx

I'm still doing it at 23 weeks. I've even bought black maternity knickers (low under bump fronts) that have white inner gussets in so I don't miss anything onto black fabric. I've had spotting a couple of times after scans so I doubt my knicker checking ways will stop anytime soon 🤷🏻

EllieJai44 · 26/01/2022 08:26

Same here! Will only wear light knickers to catch anything, checking tp after wiping 🤦‍♀️ it's terrible!

Also I'm a POAS addict! 7 weeks tomorrow and yesterday I still took a vlearblue digital to make sure it still said 3+! So bad! But I can't shake the feeling of something going wrong!

Last MC for me was a missed miscarriage, picked up on a 10 and half weeks private scan, baby had died at 9 and half weeks, we had even seen a heartbeat at 6 and 8 weeks!

Pro tip: If your partner decides to use up the roll of novelty Christmas loo roll his mother bought him as a joke present, get out your own plain roll otherwise the red patterns on the paper will give you a heart attack Blush

Auntieobem · 26/01/2022 08:44

Good luckxxx I was part of a similar knicker checking thread about 13 years ago after 2 mcs. My 12 year old has just headed our the door to school.

Your last experience sounded really tough I am so sorry and understand the POAS addiction fully. I could easily do that too (did last time) but told myself NO this time and just POAS when I was testing to see if I was actually pregnant. Proud at my self control hahaha

When did everyone start telling people about their pregnancy (or for those earlier on, have you said anything to anyone?) ...I don't mean like big announcements, but people you are really close to and might tell earlier than 12 weeks.

I really don't want to keep anything from my mum and she legit even knows when I ovulate, so I know she'll probably guess anyway, but I don't feel excited about this pregnancy yet as it's so early on at only 5 weeks...I'd love to know what others do!

Bexxe · 28/01/2022 18:13

This is such a lovely thread to come across. I also had a MC 2 years ago, and have recently found out I’m 6 weeks pregnant!

I am worried about EVERYTHING! I currently have 2 pregnant friends who are breezing through their pregnancies and I get so jealous that I can’t seem to just enjoy it like they are.
It’s nice to speak (even online!) to people who actually understand that worry instead of hearing ‘oh you’ll be fine stop worrying!’

mrsmb03 · 28/01/2022 19:01

I am so glad I found this thread. @Bexxe I also had MC 2 years ago end Jan 2020 and found out shockingly last week I was pregnant when we said we weren't trying last December. We are between 5 or 6 weeks pregnant. I am absolutely paranoid about this pregnancy. We conceived also while self isolating due to being both positive with Covid so that is an extra worry. I might be overly anxious but I don't feel pregnant I don't have nausea or painful breasts. No morning sickness. I just felt really hungry then tired from ovulation till last week but not so tired today. Eating normal no food aversion. I also don't have much discharge. Last week when I wiped a few brown spotting came and like last night I can't figure out what the discarge was it was like watery with a hint of light caramel / brown mixed with it. Tonight I thought my hips were bit achy but I don't know if it's just the way I sat at work. I also had lower back pain and only stopped yesterday kind of in the tailbone area. I am bit scared tbh.

Bexxe · 28/01/2022 19:05

@mrsmb03 that’s so strange! We also conceived whilst positive with Covid! I think I’m only a week or so ahead of you how crazy!

I have been the same, I’ve had mild cramping on and off, sore boobs and the nose of a sniffer dog! Put apart from that barely anything. They also come and go. I keep telling myself that unless I’m bleeding red blood and major cramps that everything should be okay!

mrsmb03 · 28/01/2022 19:24

@Bexxe I am very much trying to be positive although really hard to not be anxious. Maybe this is TMI but we really only done the deed couple of times. Christmas and Boxing day! Depending on when I actuallly ovulated I can't say if im 6 going on 7 or 5 going on 6! Flo app I am 6weeks 5 days. We've been having fertility checks the past year and my husband was recommended to take Impryl due to sperm motility and he is in his 3rd box. Heard it works after the 3rd month. Goodluck on all of us! x

Bexxe · 28/01/2022 20:35

@mrsmb03 we only DTD on the 30th because I was poorly so we are literally days apart how crazy!

Gamechanger2019 · 28/01/2022 22:02

I’m 8 months after 2 MCs…I am still a knicker checker now 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈 sadly it never leaves you. Best of luck everyone 🙌🏼🤞🏼

FinallyFertile · 28/01/2022 23:58

Hi.
I'm finally 5 weeks today with our 1st ever pregnancy after 18 years of on and off again trying 🥰🥰
My husband wants to tell our family, I'm not so sure, what is everyone's opinion on telling people this early?
My midwife said technically its confirmed and if a MC is going to happen it will happen regardless of if we've told anyone or not so not to give the 12 weeks rule much thought (she doesn't believe in bad luck apparently) but I'm 36, he's 46 and as it's taken this long to conceive it seems like an absolute miracle and I don't want to tempt fate. Any and all advice or opinions are appreciated 🥰

Gamechanger2019 · 29/01/2022 07:31

@FinallyFertile have you had a scan where you can see the heartbeat? I personally would wait for that but you could always tell close family like parents in the mean time?

Gamechanger2019 · 29/01/2022 07:32

@FinallyFertile congratulations too!! sorry brain fog today terrible sleep!! I hope everything goes amazing xxx
