I hope someone can please give me some advice.
I am 11wks pregnant with our 2nd baby & since Tuesday have suddenly lost all my symptoms.I saw my GP yesterday, who said that it was very odd,but unless I was bleeding or in pain, wasn't concerned & wouldn't arrange a scan.

Tonight I have started spotting & don't really know what to do.I am RH negative,so will need Anti D regardless of the outcome.

My midwife only works Mon-Weds & our Drs surgery is shut until Monday,by which time I will ber cutting it fine for my jab, which I need within 72 hours.

I'm not sure who to ring or what to do,especially if I start bleeding heavily.Do I go to A&E or the hospital I am booked in at & had my early scan at.

Sorry if this is a bit jumbled-I'm can't see the keyboard very well for the tears & can't think straight.I've already lost 1 baby & can't bear the thought of losing another.....

Mirage, I don't really have anything to add except to say that I hope you get some good news tomorrow. My thoughts are with you best of luck. xx

Rowlers · 12/11/2004 22:30

I'm surprised Mirage that no-one has got back to you. That's really poor.
Phone first thing in the morning.
I had spotting a few times. The first time my midwife referred me to the hospital and they asked me to go direct to labour suite. They were fantastic there and urged me to phone them direct if I had any further problems which I did. Each time I was seen immediately either there or on EPU and all monitoring which could be done was done, including what seemed like millions of scans.
Hope it all works out for you.

Just wanted to send you good wishes Mirage. I hope everything works out well for you and the baby. I had a miscarraige 2 weeks ago and the hospital wouldn't scan me over the weekend and I had to wait till Monday morning from the Friday night - I'm also RH -ve and didn't get my anti D till the Wednesday!!! I didnt' realise you were supposed to get it within 72 hours....

Rowlers · 12/11/2004 22:40

Bubu, that's crap! So sorry about your miscarriage.

Just a quick update. After reading your messages last night,I thought that I really ought to try & get someone somewhere to see me.So I rang our GP's out of hours service & they sent me to the walk in centre at the LRI.Luckily,by that time,my mum was back in & able to stay with dd whilst we went.

The Dr we saw didn't examine me,but did get on the phone the hospital I'm booked in at & got me am appt for my anti d at 10am.He said that they might be able to scan me there & then.

The spotting appears to have stopped, but I still don't feel pregnant any more,so am gearing myself up for bad news.

Bubu, hugs to you- that sounds terrible. When I lost my 1st baby,I didn't know that I was RH neg until I had been bleeding for a week,so didn't get any anti d then at all.Apparently if you are under 12wks,it is not so likely to cause problems & subsequent bloodtests have shown that I had no antibodies.

Best go & get ready. Will let you know asap.
Thanks again
Mirage

Mirage, thinking of you. Let us know how it went.

Bubu, I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage (((hugs))). Your treatment sounds awful - I would complain. I live in Germany and the healthcare here is luxury compsred to the NHS - but even so I think it really is unacceptable to leave you a whole weekend! without giving you a scan - it sadly wouldn't have changed the outcome but I can just imagine how awful that weekend was for you. And the anti-D thing more or less amounts to negligence - THEY, not you, are supposed to know by when you need to have had it! Maybe when you recover a bit from the shock of the m/c you might like to consider filing a complaint.

fufmum · 13/11/2004 13:31

Mirage good luck and i will be keeping an eye open to see how it went. Sending hugs!

Mirage · 13/11/2004 14:34

I'm back after a long drawn out morning & everything is fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got sent to the wrong ward, then I wasn't able to be scanned as they hadn't got my notes,so got sent to another ward. They couldn't find my notes at all,so we had to wait in a side room for 1.5 hours whilst they searched for them.Eventually I was sent back down for a scan,by which time the poor sonographer was so frustrated on my behalf, that she rang up the ward & gave them a telling off for making me hang about all morning, not knowing what was going on.

After the scan I had to go back on the ward again & wait for a Dr to check me over.I had an internal & everything looks fine.I didn't need my jab after all.

The main thing is,though, that my little blob is alive & well & measuring 10wks 4 days,EDD 6/6/05! The sonographer was so cross about all the messing about I'd had that she didn't charge me for the scan picture.I am so relieved now.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It made a real difference to know that so many people were wishing us well.

Love from a very happy Mirage
